We went on a big ship cruise, which was probably half the passenger level in about 2016.

Absolute nightmare. No amount of bling compensates for the level of passengers.

We’ve recently returned from a cruise on a small boat, relaxed peaceful and civilised.

Sorry no. This would be a nightmare for me.

I feel the same way. A cruise (of any kind, but especially on something like this) would be one of my worst nightmares.

Absolutely not my cup of tea (or coffee in my case!) I have enjoyed going on fred olsen trips with smaller ships that could get into places the larger ships wouldnt get to. They had interesting knowledgeable people to give lectures on places they were going, good libraries etc. But I much prefer to go ashore on my own and wander about doing my own thing. I like to go to experience other places and people. These huge ships would feel as though you were taking so many people with you , you wouldnt be likely to have any personal time either on shore or even on the boat. Well it takes all sort of course.

I have been on one cruise, it was on one of this cruise liners sister ships

It was luxurious, we had a double balcony and lounge, along with a spacious bedroom. Our own Club Room for drinks and snacks with full length windows, a small restaurant (maximum 80 covers) for breakfast and dinner (silver service)

Entertainment was first class, we were with friends and had an enjoyable time, but, neither DH or I have any interest in repeating the experience.

I have absolutely no complaints, just that sea cruising is not for us.

Sounds great 😊

Yes can see the size of this would make me heave..
Am interested in why people would book this type of trip. Am really boggled about why..

We loved our cruises but all on smaller ships. Couldn't bear those massive ones.

They are environmentally damaging and flood towns and cities with a tourist influx. Not a fan ...

Yes I feel it’s soo big it’s not a luxury cruise ship but if I cud afford this wud much prefer a small island but wud love to know who Loves these cruises

Some of these cruise ships are so huge, they must be environmentally damaging to where they dock

I think the fact that there have been contagious outbreaks on them where all the passengers are cooped up and quarantined on the ship in what can sometimes be dire circumstances is somewhat off putting. Having said that, some of the destinations look great. I haven't been on a cruise because my husband couldn't get the ferry across the channel without being sick, he was mighty pleased when the channel tunnel opened. He's ok on a river and would consider a river cruise, they also go to some interesting places, but we haven't done anything about organising anything along those lines.

Whilst I’ve been on one cruise, to me this ship looks utterly horrendous!

This insider documentary is about the world’s largest cruise ship…it looks spectacular inside..
Wonder how many GNs have experienced this type of cruise and would you it?

Personally I can’t excited about any cruise ship with thousands of people and wonder how I would feel if I fell sick on board

Am an air traveller in the past but don’t feel comfortable booking cruises…

Any positive thoughts ?
