New thread.

And Jenny had to sell the Rovers because it wasn't making enough money.

vegansrock Sat 25-Jul-26 19:19:03

Whenever is baby Harper going to come home? She never gets a mention these days. And what’s happened to Jodie’s treasure box? Is the gun in there?

Aveline Sat 25-Jul-26 19:25:47

She's coming home next week. Pay attention*vegansrock*!

Granma1 Sat 25-Jul-26 19:53:05

After seeing the episodes about Betsy. I was shocked has I had never heard about such a thing. I did mention to my high school granddaughter and she said she had never heard of it. If it gets people discussing it then that’s a good thing. it’s scary what young people can see on the internet.

It looks like Corrie is on this Sunday. 7.30pm or 8.30pm - can't remember.

vegansrock Sat 25-Jul-26 21:16:44

I’ve just caught up with Friday's episode - seems the scriptwriters have just remembered Harper. No doubt she’ll soon join Frankeh, Alfie, the quads and the other kids at their 24 hour childcare room. Harry seems to have emerged from it now that Sarah’s not pretending to look after him.

8.30 Devorgilla

Yes, it seems to have picked up in its fortunes since the new lot took over, which is bucking the trend, particularly given the 'domestic difficulties' thy've had on their plates, what with Maggie's murder of her husband coming to light, her affair with Jim McDonald being exposed (so it was), and Will being involved in a sex abuse case.

Thanks - I would have missed it.

It is on at 8.30 pm. I only saw it because I was looking online for a specific programme. There is little else on for me.

Jodie seems to have a new hairdo, with a sort of fringe.

Looks odd.

How many more times will she be told to ‘get out, never darken our door again’ only to be allowed back five minutes later?

Where is Ross, Ty’s dad, actually living? Is he still at the Chariot Square Hotel? He obviously either bribed or blackmailed that woman into what she said about him.

Harper looks remarkably well after her lengthy stay in hospital, and life changing operation.

I honestly don’t know why they felt the need to have David and Shona with a new baby, think they have more than enough offspring to cope with, Lily and ‘Max In Prison Who Is Never Mentioned’.

Aveline Tue 28-Jul-26 07:49:36

Why does nobody seem to notice Ross's appalling wig? You'd think Steve or Kirk would have made a tactless remark about it.

Doodledog Tue 28-Jul-26 07:56:14

It’s comically bad, isn’t it? There must be a storyline behind it at some point, or costumes would have found him a better one.

Primrose53 Tue 28-Jul-26 09:01:43

I think Jodie is now wearing a clip on fringe. It is a slightly different colour to the rest of her hair. It looks most odd.

vegansrock Tue 28-Jul-26 10:58:30

Baby Harper is way too big for a Moses basket

Aveline Tue 28-Jul-26 11:52:50

I was thinking that too. Nice wee baby though.

Charleygirl5 Tue 28-Jul-26 15:13:55

She is also too big and healthy to have been so ill as a newborn. We rarely see the younger children. I can't remember her name but the woman with her mouth permanently hanging open had a houseful, but they appear to have vanished. Didn't one have severe hearing problems? Cured overnight? Why do I watch it?

What is Idris up to? Leanne will be in tears soon.

Calendargirl Tue 28-Jul-26 17:58:01

Gemma With The Ever Open Mouth.

Yes, the quads.

The deaf one had a cochlear implant or similar, didn’t he, it seemed to work well.

They are at school, thank goodness.

*I can’t imagine many people discuss their sex life with their grandparents* ….of course they don’t Doodledog and of course young people don’t watch Corrie either, but I can’t tell you how many comments I ve read on social media where adults, parents and grandparents had no idea that this was a practice amongst some young people. If it’s going to open their eyes and perhaps Initiate some conversation around this and other sexual practices then I think it would’ve done a good job, don’t you?

My grandchild came to me about a pain passing urine. Got an appointment with GP who sent them to sexual health clinic. Wouldn't tell parents and while they were at school, sixth form, I contacted the clinic and got an appointment. Joked with the nurse that I'd got to 70 without needing them and it seemed a bit bizarre.

Turned out they had Chlamydia and soon sorted out but yes sometimes teenagers talk to granny about their sex lives and the consequences particularly when they don't feel able to talk to parents. My advice was to dump the person who gave it to them knowing they had it and not taking the meds.

And Jenny had to sell the Rovers because it wasn't making enough money.

Didn't she have to sell it because Carla found out she had the money Carla had been conned out of and needed theo eye to pay her back.

theworriedwell Tue 28-Jul-26 22:32:27

Money to pay her back not theo eye to pay her back.

Who was it on the ground that ‘tough’ Brody had duffed up, on Idris’s instructions?

I thought it would be Adam, but no, he popped up in the next scene.

The birthday party for Ross was a farce. As for someone suggesting that he went to Tracey’s! She’s known him for 5 minutes, as have all his long lost family.

I expect poor old Ken would like another long term lodger, along with her, Amy, Steve, Cassie…..

Do you think Tracey hasn’t realised he’s wearing a wig?

After Tommy Orpington, she’s really scraping the barrel.

Why is little Dorin’s mother never mentioned, and does she never see him, or want him back?

🤷‍♀️

BlueBelle Thu 30-Jul-26 07:07:42

I thought Dorin was only there while ‘what’s her name:’ got set up, he seems a permanent feature she’s forgotten where she left him
I wish his name wasn’t Ross there used to be Ross in EE I don’t watch that so don’t know if he’s still there There’s a Ross in Emmerdale, a prominent part at the moment, couldn’t he be Eddie or sonething he looks more like an Eddie
Oh please get rid of Jodie !!!!

Charleygirl5 Thu 30-Jul-26 09:15:27

All the men appear to be growing beards so I no longer recognise some, Adam being one. Is it only me?

I also wondered who was lying on the ground.

Aveline Thu 30-Jul-26 11:50:19

I'd be so tempted to to just lift that wig up from the front. It doesn't go at all with his copious white whiskers.
