New thread.

Calendargirl Thu 06-Aug-26 09:04:38

That’s true BlueBelle, we don’t know how long she has had dementia.

This has obviously been brought in to highlight the challenges facing Debbie, Ronnie and all those other families.

Aveline Thu 06-Aug-26 14:57:03

Oh no! What's come over us all? People actually praising Corrie! What a turn up!

tanith Thu 06-Aug-26 15:25:49

Betsy (actress Sidney Martin) sat for hours while her team created a silicone mask of her face and made 3 prosthetics from it so her face realistically portrayed her stroke.

sodapop Thu 06-Aug-26 15:42:49

She has certainly proved she can act tanith well researched performance.

Aveline Thu 06-Aug-26 16:08:49

Her dysphasic/dysarthric speech is good too.

Glad Sally had ‘the talk’ with Joanie.

Intended to highlight the sexual strangulation with teenagers.

Well done for that.

Mamo Thu 06-Aug-26 18:16:38

I thought the scene where Sally has a chat with the older foster child, Joanie (?), about what happened Betsy, was excellent. The young teen was mortified at first, but Sally emphasized what a dangerous practice sexual choking is very clearly, with a touch of humour. We could really see Joanie taking the advice on board. Well done Sally for just getting on with a difficult conversation!! 👏

I’m fed up with corrie. Every week someone is in Hospital. It’s like they have no ideas left, except put someone in a hospital bed. And that nasty platt sister storyline is going just round in circles. End it please!

Aveline Fri 07-Aug-26 06:50:38

Just don't watch it Denise14

Charleygirl5 Fri 07-Aug-26 08:23:28

Is everyone aware it is not on tonight? I think it is rugby . We had an hour's viewing at the beginning of the week, I think but I will keep a watchful eye for Sunday night.

Is Ross to be a permanent fixture? His wig looks awful.

Lauren must have a very good babysitter as she appears to be out and about when the fancy takes her.

Sally handled the difficult conversation very well with Joanie.

Corrie went up a notch or two in my estimation, but they mustn't tackle too many large storylines at once.

Aveline Fri 07-Aug-26 08:31:47

I'll be recording it while I'm away so will avoid this thread as I don't want spoilers!

Here comes another potential baddie with Tim's long lost cousin, Richie. Do we really need another?

Charleygirl5 Sat 08-Aug-26 08:20:26

Please be aware Corrie is on at 7.30pm for 30 minutes on Sunday, tomorrow evening.

I agree, too many baddies. We need some humour for a change.

Who will find Jodie's gun in the loft? U do wish she would buy a single ticket, destination anywhere and take Ross with her.

Clawdy Sat 08-Aug-26 19:19:14

Yes, definitely too many baddies, we need some likeable new characters.

Calendargirl Sun 09-Aug-26 07:20:10

And now Tim has got a long lost ‘cousin’ just turned up!

No doubt another dodgy back story.

All these long lost relatives.

All invited to kip down for the night, and suddenly they’ve moved in…..

No doubt he’ll soon be driving a taxi, or buttering a barm at Roy’s Rolls….

Charleygirl5 Sun 09-Aug-26 13:13:53

Are these houses two up and two down, rather than the palatial premises they are upstairs being able to offer anybody a bed for the night and no doubt each has his or her own room.

Should some not be paying more council tax as some of the "temporary" residents stay longer than 6 months.

Don't forget it is on tonight at 7.30pm

BlueBelle Sun 09-Aug-26 13:32:37

H dear I must have missed an episode I didn’t t think I had though, but I didn’t see a long lost cousin arriving did I fall asleep ?

Bukkie Sun 09-Aug-26 15:17:03

Bluebelle I often feel like I have missed an episode. There was one earlier in the week that I felt had jumped. When did Ross move in with Kevin? I thought Abi and Alfie were back there.

Charleygirl5 Sun 09-Aug-26 15:48:16

BlueBelle you are not alone, I missed that also and I doubt if we were the only two! I am losing track of who is who, especially if they dye their hair or like the men, grow a beard.

I don't call myself Birdbrain for nothing.

Calendargirl Sun 09-Aug-26 17:04:29

BlueBelle

The ‘cousin’ was a fare in Tim’s taxi, he is bald just like Tim so you may have mistook him!

Ended up drinking with him and the other men, plenty to say for himself, annoyed Steve, seems he knew Tim back when he was seeing that older woman, and is not getting on well with his missis, so spent the night at Tim’s I think.

Sarnia Sun 09-Aug-26 22:06:24

Ooops! While Kit is telling Bethany that the case against Gary will not go any further, there he is confessi9ng all in Weatherfield Police Station.

Calendargirl Tue 11-Aug-26 06:31:22

Oh no, looks like yet another murder!

Seems like this cousin didn’t live far away from Tim, surprised they haven’t met up for years.

Did we see Sarah get attacked, or was it just an incident we weren’t shown?

Astitchintime Tue 11-Aug-26 06:49:00

“Oh no, looks like yet another murder!”………Surprise! Surprise! And just the previous night someone got bumped of in Emmerdale! Do the soaps employ the same script writers? 🤔🤔

BlueBelle Tue 11-Aug-26 06:57:07

Well I believe I read that sone of the writers do write for both soaps Astitch but evenso you would expect them the replicate stories in both would you?
I m not so in love with Corrie as I used to be I hope my enthusiasm returns
I take it no one has missed Cassie yet ?

BlueBelle Tue 11-Aug-26 06:57:42

Not expect them…. sorry
