New thread.

Another murderer! Oh, goody. Just what Corrie is short of.

Charleygirl5 Wed 12-Aug-26 08:21:11

Corrie fills up prison cells and hospital beds.

Calendargirl Thu 13-Aug-26 21:21:32

Yet another miserable stroppy teenager, Lucy the unheard of niece a week ago, now moved in with Tim and Sally.

Why on earth would Glenda stop and sit down at the bus stop with her, asking if she was ok? I know she had a little case with her, but no reason to assume something was wrong, surely?

Glenda on a roll after helping Bethany out regarding her date.

Primrose53 Thu 13-Aug-26 21:30:10

How likely is it that Sally would be approved as a Foster Carer given that she spent time in prison?

sodapop Thu 13-Aug-26 21:50:30

I thought that was a bit strange as well Calendargirl didn't recognise Glenda at first and thought it was someone with evil intent picking up young girls.

Harris27 Thu 13-Aug-26 22:17:48

Used to love corrie but it was in the bet lynch days got too serious for me. Don’t watch it now.

BlueBelle Thu 13-Aug-26 22:26:33

Harry (the new Harry ) has turned into quite a good little actor, unlike some in the soaps.
If you don’t watch it Harris how do you know you don’t like it and why would you bother with a Corrie thread

Calendargirl Fri 14-Aug-26 06:52:27

Can’t get over Harry being 10, I still think of him as a toddler!

Jake, Ruby, Hope and Joseph all good actors, they put Jack and possibly Liam in the shade.

Not forgetting little Dorin of course, who looks such a happy little chap, no worries at being separated from his real mum who seems to have forgotten he exists.

Bukkie Fri 14-Aug-26 08:58:21

I don't think any of us realise Harry is 10 because he spent the first 9 and half years of his life in the childcare cupboard. Jake and Susie (real life brother and sister) are great at acting. Susie is the perfect match to Eva.

Calendargirl Fri 14-Aug-26 13:13:08

Forgot about Susie, yes, she puts some of the adult actors to shame.

Plays the part of a bright, precocious little girl very well.

Beechnut Fri 14-Aug-26 13:28:03

I see Harry had a sense of humour last night 😂

Chocolatelovinggran Fri 14-Aug-26 14:06:34

Yes, I'm puzzled that no one seems to have thought through childcare provision through the summer holiday for Harry.
Presumably, prior to her incarceration, his mother would have been at work each day.

EllieAnne Fri 14-Aug-26 14:46:20

Just how big are all the houses in the street? Sally’s,Gemma’s Ken’s and Tyrone’s must be bursting at the seems.

Bukkie Fri 14-Aug-26 16:43:29

EllieAnne - I know what you mean about the houses. They are all made of elastic and like the Tardis. In boring moments I try to work out where they all sleep. Where does Lauren live?

Bukkie Fri 14-Aug-26 16:46:31

And why didn't Todd move in with Summer in the flat rather than moving into the overcrowded house with George? Has Lisa forgotten her flooded house? Has Daniel forgotten his inherited house? Am I overthinking thissmile?

Charleygirl5 Sat 15-Aug-26 16:15:00

These houses are barely two up and two down because downstairs there is a kitchen and a sitting room. I would imagine upstairs each has his or her own bedroom!

EllieAnne Sat 15-Aug-26 18:14:12

So if Gemma’s house is two bedrooms how do they fit in 5 children?

Charleygirl5 Sun 16-Aug-26 09:58:44

with that number they would need two bathrooms.

nanaK54 Wed 19-Aug-26 17:04:41

Not sure why I am bothering to share this really, but what the heck has happened of late. This is not the Corrie that I want to watch...
Can't stand all of the prison stuff.
Then there's the horrible Ross why do we have to suffer these characters.
What is going on with Todd, guess this is leading to a drinking problem.
Don't like Idris either with his 'dodgy dealings'.
I think Lucy probably killed her mum, but then that has all been done before with Stu so who knows?!

theworriedwell Wed 19-Aug-26 17:15:18

EllieAnne

Boys in one bedroom girls in the other. Parents use front room as a bedroom. Not unusual when I was a child.

theworriedwell Wed 19-Aug-26 17:16:18

Charleygirl5

We didn't even have one bathroom when I was a kid. Lav at the top of the backyard. The back to back houses shared.

Lovetopaint037 Wed 19-Aug-26 17:20:30

No longer any pleasure in it. Watching like a programmed robot.

Jodieb Wed 19-Aug-26 18:04:56

Think I will fast forward on the prison scenes. Predictable and boring.
Just read a book by Jemma Forte. All about a family. Made me laugh and cry. I thought if only she was a writer for Corrie.

This thread always has people complaining about how awful it is, yet they still watch it regularly enough to comment on past and present stories and characters grin.

I'm sure we all prefer some stories and characters to others, which is why there are multiple plotlines - so there is something for everyone - but it's not compulsory to watch it at all - if people dislike it so much they can do something else.

Absolutely and that is why I said "not sure why I am bothering to share this really"...was just thinking out loud I suppose.
