Glad you're enjoying it. You certainly deserve a medal for being such a faithful viewer over so many years. I never saw it at the beginning but have dipped in for a quick look since it started a couple of weeks ago. Those early episodes look so dated now, don't they, the picture quality, the sets, all very grainy. But the warmth was still there. It has such a homely feel, which is why people liked it. I never watched any of the British soaps because they didn't have that.
I missed out huge chunks of Neighbours over the years, saw Kylie and Jason though, and followed it regularly from about 2010 onwards. My favourite character was always Paul Robinson, such a villain, but then he would get upset and look so sad with those puppy dog eyes and you just melted for him.
