Bit of background on Johannes. I’ve read his biography and apparently his interest in fashion came from his childhood. His sister had Barbie dolls and he liked to make outfits with his sister. Obviously this had carried on throughout his life and why not?
As a dancer he has been one who showed such patience and compassion with his partners especially Annabel Croft who did SCD just a few months after losing her husband to cancer. This was one of my favourite pairings on the show.
It's too long, drawn-out and much of the content is just of no interest. Johannes is getting better but is he a natural presenter? He's really missed as a dance partner. Josh is way out of his comfort zone. Many of the contestants are not well-known.
As a concept, it is good but it needs a drastic edit, otherwise it won't survive in its current format.
I watch the results show with the sound turned down. I really just watch it for the professional dance
My granddaughters thought it hilarious that I even asked if Shirley really did the succession of handstands but when I asked if it was AI or a stunt double they had no clue. 🤷♀️😂
I minimise the results show on my iPad, look at something else, and only switch the sound up and enlarge on my screen when the important bits come on I’ve never liked the spotlight where they all stand in a group and couples are called forward one by one, it’s painful to watch in my opinion, but I do like to see the dance off. I missed it last night as I was out, but saw it this morning. I’m not surprised that Melanie went, although she is nice she just wasn’t a good dancer.
I was out on Saturday night so missed the programme. There is no dancer who I am rooting for yet so I feel I do not have a vested interest plus I do miss some of the previous professional dancers. Early days yet 😀
The standing ‘waiting to be picked’ (or not) reminds me of being at high school waiting (and wondering) whether I’d be picked by the captains for the netball/hockey team. I feel sorry for the contestants towards the end of the process they must feel somewhat mortified by their very public shame. Send a bit cruel to be honest!
I think announcing the results verges on the sadistic: telling half the contestants they are safe, then a break, then the other half, reduced to four, than a dance , then the final 2. I like to think the announcements are made in one fell swoop, then spliced in recording to break up the too lengthy programme, but unnecessarily harsh. For entertainment?
I've watched Strictly for years and always record the programme. This time I can't be bothered to listen to all the talking, especially as there are so many taking part. I watch the dances, watch the scores and move on to the next dance. Perhaps when the numbers have been reduced, I might listen to the judges comments and other chat. It's just too long to sit through at the moment.

Yes but shaming others is evidently considered good entertainment.
I watch Strictly every week but I think it's a habit, I don't tend to get really interested in it until about six weeks in. The early shows are so long and I'm still unsure about the new presenting team, especially Josh, who I have never particularly liked anyway.
Two and a half hours continuous viewing on Saturdays is a bit of a marathon (even watching with a friend and wine!).
It’s my first experience of Strictly so am I right in assuming that as the competition goes on and dancers get knocked out that the programme itself becomes shorter? 🤞😂
I do read the spoiler and know the result. I don't go on the thread after I know. I would had to accidently slip up. I still think it's ridiculous to have the result show on Sunday.
