Anyone up for a 'Traitors thread'?

NotSpaghetti Mon 12-Oct-26 14:37:16

"Pandering" is generally not nice, I agree, but not sureit is "grim".
I'm sure we all pander to someone if we feel inclined to.

Re the thread..
I think the thread is mainly trying to be just chit-chat.
🤷‍♀️

MarieElla Mon 12-Oct-26 14:48:21

It's grim because it suggests he had to pander to Bella, due to their sexuality, or risk being cancelled.
Back to discussing Traitors now......

JenniRen Mon 12-Oct-26 15:06:09

According to Julie, Leigh-Anne was pregnant during the filming; hope none of the tasks were too onerous for her.

Pregnancy shouldn't mean being wrapped in cottonwool (far from it) but the tasks are far from what most people would encounter in everyday life.

Why?

If I answer that you’ll have to stay on your high horse and I think the poor thing could do with a rest.

✅

MarieElla Mon 12-Oct-26 15:48:24

If being on my high horse means speaking out for what's right, I'll happily stay here, ta.

Casdon Mon 12-Oct-26 16:05:08

If being on your high horse includes calling other Gransnetters ‘ bigoted, pearl clutching older women’ you will be up there completely on your own, because there is no sense in which that is any more acceptable in terms of ‘what’s right’.

Aveline Mon 12-Oct-26 16:07:52

It's attitudes and persistence like yours MarieElla that creates Terfs.

MarieElla Mon 12-Oct-26 16:42:29

I ruffled a few feathers here!
😅

JenniRen Mon 12-Oct-26 16:47:28

I'm not really sure why I was the subject of such accusations, as I said:

Bella has said she doesn't mind which pronouns are used.
Well said, Bella.
And did correct someone, saying it should be Their not its.

But never mind. 🤷‍♀️

MarieElla Mon 12-Oct-26 16:53:02

Well, you'd never heard of Bella until the Traitors and don't expect to hear of them again....but I think you will as they are a very well established actor.

Well many people in my age group have watched GOT, The Last of Us along with The Worst Witch.

Also heard her voice overs in animated films like The Sheep Detectives.

Oreo Mon 12-Oct-26 17:00:52

She was great in The Last Of Us😃 but now out of Traitors so time to move on.
Traitors is a really addictive programme, and I must say I fancy a week in the Castle, but just as a holiday.
The meals they have look good and so many comfy chairs to lounge in and read a book.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 12-Oct-26 17:03:32

Oreo ooh yes please, I would also like Claudia’s wardrobe along with her hair stylist.

Oh, The Worst Witch. Yes, I must have done then.
Just had a look, Mildred Hubble 😀 I remember it (and the books).
We don't have Netflix so we've never seen Game of Thrones.

Oreo I did wonder if a top chef was a contestant, what they would say about the food. It does look good.

BlueBelle Mon 12-Oct-26 17:06:36

Dog with a bone comes to mind 🥱

I ve watched all the Traitors both celebrity and ordinary Joe soaps, and sorry to say this one is very slow compared to previous ones.
I was really looking forward to it, as although a lot of the young ones I d never heard of, I really like Rob, Romish , Joe, Julie, Miranda Ross and some others and thought it would be very entertaining, but so far it’s not at all. It’s slow, maybe they are all worried about giving something away so saying little. It’s certainly not that entertaining so far I really hope it improves.

Chestnut Mon 12-Oct-26 17:16:13

I'm just wondering if it will get slower each time because people are aware of how the game is played and are not taking chances. Look at Ross, paranoid about being murdered in plain sight. He would never have been like that before it happened to Paloma. I know it was funny but it illustrates how people are changing their behaviour according to what they've seen previously.

Casdon Mon 12-Oct-26 17:20:06

I’m enjoying it, I think the moderation of behaviour by Ross and a few others has actually been fascinating. It reveals more about people’s characters and competitiveness than just the games and the gossip. I can see the psychological effect on people becoming more evident in each series as they learn from what’s gone before, the best players are those that reveal the least, they are the strategists.

Aveline Mon 12-Oct-26 17:49:32

It all depends on what the editors want to show us.

Casdon Mon 12-Oct-26 18:12:37

I imagine they show us the most interesting bits, I bet there’s an awful lot of sitting about chatting about their children/dogs/work?

Aveline Mon 12-Oct-26 19:55:14

Yes. There's already lots of sitting about with plates of lasagne and salad! They're long days too. I bet they get pretty bored. The tasks must seem a treat.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 12-Oct-26 22:19:10

I think there was more intensity when it wasn’t a pot of money for charity by celebs who could write off the whole amount anyway without losing sleep.

When it was. Series one and ordinary folk were competing against one another it had more intensity as these folk were trying to win as an individual a sum of money that could set them up - pay off their mortgage, use it as a deposit in a house, afford a wedding etc.

Although the nominated charity will of course be grateful with this series, the more hopeful ‘determination to win’ is now missing somewhat - in my opinion.

Aveline Tue 13-Oct-26 09:02:52

I agree

NotSpaghetti Tue 13-Oct-26 09:11:40

Surely if tasks were "too onerous" you'd sit them out.

I can't see why any of these tasks so far are too onerous for a straightforward pregnancy to be honest.

Oreo Tue 13-Oct-26 15:04:52

It’s true I think, that celebrity Traitors lacks the intensity as the money is for charity, but it’s still really good.
Ross Kemp is surprising me as I always imagined he would be good fun, same about Miranda too. Both are proving to be anything but.
Maybe they will relax a bit more by this week😁

Myha’la Herrold the Celebrity Traitors star, has claimed the reality show has “unconscious racial and cultural bias .
Discussing her experience on the popular BBC show, the Industry star said she had sealed her own fate by making an alliance with Grant, but added that she believed her race might have played a role. Responding to a comment alleging racism under her Instagram post about her time on the show, Herrold wrote: “I sealed my own fate! And that early in the game there is VERY little to grasp on to, and I gave them… a lot
“However, I do agree that unconscious racial and cultural bias exists in this game where my authenticity or honesty or the ways in which I choose to express myself look suspicious to people who are unfamiliar with people like me

I will be shot down but I am sick up to here of claims of “unconscious racial or cultural or gender (trans or otherwise) bias” being trotted out as an excuse for not winning/ achieving/ whatever.
What happened to winning or losing ?
And this is only a game show for heavens sake!
I suppose Romesh Ranganathan and Maya Jama had better look out.
