Not usually my type of thing but I found myself watching and was impressed by the dignified and sensitive tone.
No jingoism, no more Blue Birds Over the White Cliffs of Dover but a sincere and moving tribute to the young men and women of our armed services who risked and lost their lives this century.
I wonder how many people think these tributes apply to our fathers or grandfathers in wars nearly a hundred years ago, and belong in the past.
But listening to first hand accounts of conflicts of recent memory and looking at the representatives of our armed services I felt so proud of them .

Impressive and purposeful.
Dealing with war as it is today and the sacrifices that are made constantly.

I never miss it. As a military family we’ve been very lucky over the years not to have lost anyone on active service.
I’ve been watching every year since as a small child I’d be allowed to stay up late and cheer each service in turn as they marched down the steps for the muster. My grandparents insisted on an extra loud cheer for the RN and the RAF. 👋
The Royal Marines playing Sunset always has me in tears. I don’t really like it being turned into a choral performance but the choir this year was exceptionally good.
