Excellent start to this new series ,brilliant edge of the seat scenes on the train.I've never come across this actor before but he is very believable.I'm looking forward to tomorrows instalment.I suppose it should have been expected that it was good as its from the people who made Line of Duty ,one of my favourite series'

I loved it too, looking forward to tomorrow.

just noticed there was already a thread about this so hopefully GN can take this down

I really got into this and knowing the link to Line of Duty I kinda knew I would enjoy.Looking forward to this evening's showing.

Brilliant start to new drama, really enjoyed it. Like you paddyann never seen this new young actor, very good though. Keeley, as usual brilliant. Love her fashion look but I suppose she is the Home Secretary afterall. Think there's a lot more to come and looking forward to tonight's episode. Enjoy!

I enjoyed it as well, exciting first instalment. As travelasfar said the Line of Duty connection almost guaranteed a good drama.

I enjoyed it too.

Very good and no loud music to put me off. Also for once the diction was excellent. Looking forward to the next 5 episodes- good to have something decent to watch again.

DH put down his fishing magazine. That means it's good. grin

Jalima1108 Mon 27-Aug-18 11:30:36

I didn't knit - that means it's riveting!

Fantastic! Jed Mecurio is such a good writer, waiting with anticipation for the nest Line of Duty. There is a woeful lack of good tense drama at the moment, only the Unforgotten, just finished and Keeping Faith of the current crop, are worth watching imo. Well cast, Keely, as always great, little trace of Mrs Durrell in this role. The young male lead excellent, haven't seen him before, believe he is a Game of Thrones actor, but I only hear about that from my kids, not my cup of tea. Second instalment tonight something to look forward to.

It kept me on the edge of my seat right from the start,my seat is booked on the sofa for to-nights episode.

Riverwalk Mon 27-Aug-18 12:27:12

I've just watched it …. usual over-stylised nonsense but gripping nevertheless.

My friend lives in that mansion block where the 'home secretary' lives!

Witzend Mon 27-Aug-18 22:29:00

Well, I said to dh last night, how long before they're going to be at it like rabbits? - sure enough, episode 2! I'd have thought they might have kept the fizzing tension going a bit longer!
Such a cliche IMO - however I'm still enjoying it.
Agree that the bodyguard - forget his name - is excellent in the role.

I agree Witzend - and I used the word cliché too

Just realised there are 2 threads on this series which I’m really enjoying. If you find the plot a bit hard to follow, these Guardian articles and other viewers comments are helpful and fun to read.

Why didn`t the bulletproof car have bulletproof windows?

Nana3 Tue 28-Aug-18 00:08:00

Good beginning but then became predictable, on next Sunday but how many in the series I wonder.

Eloethan Tue 28-Aug-18 00:21:14

Riverwalk Did your friend see any of the filming?

callgirl1 Tue 28-Aug-18 00:57:51

Nana3, there are 6 episodes.

Nana3 Tue 28-Aug-18 08:07:41

Thanks callgirl1. Sunday evening viewing for September sorted. Just been reading the other thread about this program.

sodapop Tue 28-Aug-18 08:17:11

Yes I wondered how the driver was shot callgirl1 why no bulletproof windows?
I enjoyed the second episode but we were taking bets from the start how long it would be before the first sexual encounter. A bit predictable but I wouldn't turn him down ?

Brunette10 Tue 28-Aug-18 08:22:09

Wow! Last night's episode was exciting. Thought they would get together but not that soon. Home Secretary showing her weakness here I think but I bet she comes back all guns blazing. Bit frightening to say the least with the shooting but was acted brilliantly I thought.
