Yes it’s an old BBC series. I remember it being quite cringy.

I found this as a source of light relief away from the conflicts going on in the world and in this country. It is about three couples who live in a seaside town on the East coast and their ups and downs; the females of the couples are Alison Steadman, Paula Wilcox and Stephanie Beacham, the males are Philip Jackson, James Smith and Russ Abbott who I remember as a comedian from years ago. There are also occasional appearances from June Whitfield who plays Stephanie Beacham’s mother.

I watched all the episodes, gentle comedy rather than laugh out loud. That’s the good thing about Netflix as it offers both old and new films and series.

Watched a few episodes last evening, thoroughly enjoyed it. Delightful escapism. Thanks for the recommendation Jane43.

This sounds like a delightful escape! I'm always on the lookout for shows that offer a bit of lightheartedness, especially these days. Seeing names like Alison Steadman and Paula Wilcox instantly makes me think of some classic British comedy – they're such treasures. And Russ Abbott, wow, that brings back memories! My Granny used to love his sketch show. Definitely adding this to my watch list for a feel-good evening.
