I am absolutely gutted.

How very disappointing, especially when you had clearly been so interesting and intelligent in your interview. Please don't let this setback undermine your confidence.

Lona Mon 02-Dec-13 16:25:56

phoenix That's such a shame, you get all your hopes up and then they dash them.
(((hugs)))

janeainsworth Mon 02-Dec-13 15:26:35

Not daft, Phoenix, you've every right to feel pissed off, angry, sad, whatever you want to feel xx

whenim64 Mon 02-Dec-13 15:19:36

flowers sorry, Phoenix. If there's any justice, that job is just around the corner.

Anne58 Mon 02-Dec-13 14:47:09

Actually in tears now, which is bloody daft. So so so UTTERLY pissed off.

gillybob Mon 02-Dec-13 14:45:05

Oh I am so sorry to hear that Phoenix Like everyone else I was really gunning for you with this one and we all thought about you at the Edinburgh meet up on Sunday too ! I do hope you can try and stay positive. smile

Bugger!

I'm sorry Phoenix that you didn't get to round 2 - hope they give some feedback.

Anne58 Mon 02-Dec-13 14:35:22

Obviously not close enough, when.

They were interviewing around 10 to 12 at the first stage, then shortlisting again for round 2.

I was so convinced I would get through, I had even sorted out what I would wear.

That'll bloody teach me.

whenim64 Mon 02-Dec-13 14:32:24

Phoenix I'm gutted for you, too. Your request for feedback should impress them. I bet you came close. flowers

Soutra Mon 02-Dec-13 14:15:55

B***er on your behalf sad and angry

Anne58 Mon 02-Dec-13 13:46:20

Thank you ga you are kind.

Bideford is good, so is Bude, Holsworthy, Okehampton, I have to consider Barnstaple, even though it's a pain due to volume of traffic. The Bude job was about the same distance (20 miles) but a much better run. Friends have told me that the traffic between Bideford and Barnstaple is just nose to tail crawling at commuting time, so one has to allow a much longer travel time.

Exeter, Plymouth and Torquay are too far really.

I've just done my daily duty on DirectGov with a 20 mile radius (they always include ones a further distance) and looked through 8 pages, nothing. Far too many self employed catalogue distributors as usual.

A good EMAIL PH. ---- positive !
Sorry you didn't get job , perhaps there will be better luck next & there will be a next time .

Brilliant response - wouldn't be surprised if it gave them a pang of regret for not choosing you; I especially like the wording of your final sentence. I shall keep on looking........but there really isn't much out there, especially at this time of the year. The two B's are obvious towns to look in, but how much further are you able to travel daily? I'm guessing that an Exeter/Plymouth/Torquay commute is out of the question?

Anne58 Mon 02-Dec-13 13:31:20

Already done, ga I have sent this email:

Thank you for your letter of the 29th.

Whilst I am very disappointed not to have been selected for a second interview, I would like to send every good wish to the successful candidate and hope that the appointment will enable Kivells to move forward with their plans for new campaigns.

If you could possibly provide any feedback with regard to areas where I might improve at interviews I would very much appreciate it.

Kind regards

grannyactivist Mon 02-Dec-13 13:28:32

phoenix, I am very surprised. Can you bear to ask for feedback as to why they didn't offer you the job?

Mishap Mon 02-Dec-13 13:24:20

That is disappointing - sorry that you did not get the job. It is always to do with who else applied and what they too might have had to offer.

I do hope that the right job will come along for you son.

Anne58 Mon 02-Dec-13 13:15:04

I must say I'm really upset. The job was in a good location, and more importantly I was sure that I would really enjoy it.

Sook Mon 02-Dec-13 13:13:38

Ana Mon 02-Dec-13 12:06:36

Bad luck, phoenix. At least you weren't kept waiting for too long (small comfort, I know...) sad

Charleygirl Mon 02-Dec-13 11:55:54

phoenix what a start to your week. At least they had the courtesy to write to you. They missed an excellent opportunity and I hope that they regret their final decision. Next year has to be better.
