merlotgran Mon 02-Dec-13 11:15:20

Sorry to hear that, phoenix. You gave it your best shot so it just wasn't meant to be.

Something better WILL turn up. Maybe 2013 just wasn't your year.

I won't send you flowers but there's a cyber choccie biccy coming your way smile

Oh, phoenix, I'm so sorry. They really don't know a good thing when they see it, do they, and they obviously don't deserve you. (((hugs))) from me too.

Eloethan Mon 02-Dec-13 11:29:14

phoenix So sorry to hear your disappointing news. I hope next year brings you the good fortune that your determination deserves.

sunseeker Mon 02-Dec-13 11:30:37

They must be mad! Perhaps they thought you were too good and were worried about their own jobs! I hope something better comes along soon

annodomini Mon 02-Dec-13 11:45:20

phoenix ((((hugs)))). How can people be so short-sighted?

Charleygirl Mon 02-Dec-13 11:55:54

phoenix what a start to your week. At least they had the courtesy to write to you. They missed an excellent opportunity and I hope that they regret their final decision. Next year has to be better.

Ana Mon 02-Dec-13 12:06:36

Bad luck, phoenix. At least you weren't kept waiting for too long (small comfort, I know...) sad

I must say I'm really upset. The job was in a good location, and more importantly I was sure that I would really enjoy it.

Mishap Mon 02-Dec-13 13:24:20

That is disappointing - sorry that you did not get the job. It is always to do with who else applied and what they too might have had to offer.

I do hope that the right job will come along for you son.

grannyactivist Mon 02-Dec-13 13:28:32

phoenix, I am very surprised. Can you bear to ask for feedback as to why they didn't offer you the job?

Anne58 Mon 02-Dec-13 13:31:20

Already done, ga I have sent this email:

Thank you for your letter of the 29th.

Whilst I am very disappointed not to have been selected for a second interview, I would like to send every good wish to the successful candidate and hope that the appointment will enable Kivells to move forward with their plans for new campaigns.

If you could possibly provide any feedback with regard to areas where I might improve at interviews I would very much appreciate it.

Kind regards

grannyactivist Mon 02-Dec-13 13:38:45

Brilliant response - wouldn't be surprised if it gave them a pang of regret for not choosing you; I especially like the wording of your final sentence. I shall keep on looking........but there really isn't much out there, especially at this time of the year. The two B's are obvious towns to look in, but how much further are you able to travel daily? I'm guessing that an Exeter/Plymouth/Torquay commute is out of the question?

Nonu Mon 02-Dec-13 13:40:57

A good EMAIL PH. ---- positive !
Sorry you didn't get job , perhaps there will be better luck next & there will be a next time .
X

Anne58 Mon 02-Dec-13 13:46:20

Thank you ga you are kind.

Bideford is good, so is Bude, Holsworthy, Okehampton, I have to consider Barnstaple, even though it's a pain due to volume of traffic. The Bude job was about the same distance (20 miles) but a much better run. Friends have told me that the traffic between Bideford and Barnstaple is just nose to tail crawling at commuting time, so one has to allow a much longer travel time.

Exeter, Plymouth and Torquay are too far really.

I've just done my daily duty on DirectGov with a 20 mile radius (they always include ones a further distance) and looked through 8 pages, nothing. Far too many self employed catalogue distributors as usual.

B***er on your behalf sad and angry
