Proud mum!

Well done to your son kitty and well done to you and Mr kitty for bringing up your family to be decent, caring people.

Your post brought tears to my eyes - and I don't even know him. I'm not on Gransnet that much, so I didn't even know about your son.

He really is an example to us all.

Perhaps tears of joy, relief and being proud. How wonderful that he has progressed in his life.

Me too - he has had some hard times, but has made something good out of it. No wonder you're proud of him.

I'm feeling weepy just reading your post, kitty and I don't know either of you! Happiness/sadness, laughter/tears are only a heartbeat apart in my book. Sounds like your son is an amazing man with an amazing mum. X

kittylester when things are really bad we often hold things in and just keep going because we know someone has to, then when things improve we can just let go and the tears flow. It sounds as if you have been doing that. I hope things continue to get better for both of you.
One of my DSs had a small stroke 5 years ago, thanks to his wife's quick thinking he made a full recovery and is now a proud dad to 2 lovely children. I hope your DS finds the happiness he so deserves.

That's an uplifting post kittylester I'm not surprised your a little weepy. Pride does that. You have every right to be proud. I bet he's proud of his super supportive mum too. I hope your wish comes true.

Tears of pride Kitty and the strength of your love

Well done to your son for overcoming adversity and becoming an inspiration for others.

What a fantastic example of overcoming the seemingly impossible and coming out the other side a strong happy young man. I can see how you would cry tears of happiness. Hope he meets a partner who will love and cherish him.

My grandson (7yrs) has had a few tearful moments during his parents' divorce but remember one day giving him a hug to cheer him up and tears came in his eyes and him saying to me "It's okay Granny - it's happy tears"!!!

It's lovely to hear how well your son is doing. I guess the "happy tears" are a bit like crying at a wedding, just feeling emotional.

Well now, it so happens that I am a brain injury survivor and have been supported by Headway also.

I was reading your post there and then the name Matt came up! By heck, surely this is the same young Matt who did a sponsored swim to raise funds for his local Headway not so far back? The same Matt who posts up interesting stuff for discussion?
He is an amazing person, you have every reason to be proud of him.

I have never met him in real life but I have enjoyed his contributions on the Headway forum. He is an inspiration, good, kind and has done wonders for others who are often a bit scared when they come looking for help and support on that Forum.

What a star he is! I hope things get better and better for him and I will not mention at all to him that I noticed a post on here from his loving Mum. All good wishes to you,
