What do you find yourself avoiding more as you get older?

Nintendo has firmly established itself as a worldwide innovator. Since its creation in 1889 it has pushed boundaries and opened up brand new worlds of entertainment appealing to all generations. It changed the world of video games with touch-screen gaming in 2004 on the Nintendo DS and created motion-controlled gaming in 2006 with Wii. 2011 is the year that Nintendo pioneered its next dimensional shift – 3 dimensional – with the creation of the first portable 3D entertainment system without the need for special glasses! Enter the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo’s best selling handheld console ever!
3D has been growing in popularity for years; look at the success of 3D movies such as the ground-breaking and critically acclaimed Avatar and the birth of 3D TV. However until now 3D has been too expensive, too clumsy and too restricted. Nintendo 3DS changed all this with a price point to appeal to the mainstream audience, doing away with the cumbersome 3D glasses and opening up new content from games, to music videos to sports and movies. Glasses-free 3D is here and it offers a truly immersive experience producing images never experienced this way before.
The cutting edge technology works by overlaying images which are in turn are assimilated by the users’ eyes to produce 3D depth images that transform their entire experience of entertainment. The stunning 3D visuals produced by the Nintendo 3DS have made even the most dedicated gadget lovers gasp with amazement. Through this groundbreaking technology Nintendo’s most loved characters can be seen as never before, with Mario coming to the 3DS later this year. Technology journalist Trevor Davies explains "Avatar proved movie makers have learned how to fully exploit 3D, using its depth to draw audiences in, rather than push them away with a barrage of objects hurtling towards them as in earlier 3D crazes at the cinema." Nintendo 3DS is a perfect example of how 3D imagery entices people into a 3D world of bright, pin-sharp, beautifully rendered backgrounds giving you an enhanced sense of depth and exploration.
The system has a 3D Depth Slider that lets players select the level of 3D they enjoy the most. The 3D effect can be increased up to the highest level, scaled back to a more moderate setting or even turned off completely, depending on the preference of the user. The depth slider enables you to turn off the 3D effect any time you want and continue to enjoy games on the best resolution offered by any DS. It also comes with parental pin controls to ensure it can be shared safely amongst the whole family.
As well as the stunning visuals and interactive game play the Nintendo 3DS comes with a host of other features including a 3D camera and social networking elements.
