To be cross that I didn't get a free Sun today?

Oh dear - time to thrive again on being outraged at not having the chance to send it back.....

To be honest, pet, I've no idea if I ever think about "the sort of people" who are likely to read the Sun. How would I know if I was thinking about such people when I don't know what papers, if any, people read? Nor do I care. I'm more interested in what they might have to say on subjects that interest me.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 16-Jun-14 09:52:07

Sigh! hmm

petallus Mon 16-Jun-14 10:04:54

You're being rather lofty bags grin

GrannyTwice Mon 16-Jun-14 10:35:35

Oh dear thatbags- you've added another offence to the canon of unspeakable GN crimes.

thatbags Mon 16-Jun-14 12:19:29

Ooh! Lofty! Haha! I like that and will take it as a compliment grin.

Never been called lofty before. <wanders off chuckling delightedly>

Lofty, chuckle, chuckle.

HollyDaze Mon 16-Jun-14 12:49:00

I'm hoping someone will explain what the offence was confused

Ana Mon 16-Jun-14 12:59:57

Being 'lofty', apparently, HollyDaze! grin

HollyDaze Mon 16-Jun-14 13:02:11

About what though?

petallus Mon 16-Jun-14 17:44:38

Well, I did put a grin when I said I thought Bags was being rather lofty! It certainly wasn't meant as an insult.

It was the first two lines of Bags' post at the top of this page that made me smile.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 16-Jun-14 18:08:20

There there. Bags is probably still chuckling. And wandering. smile

Ana Mon 16-Jun-14 18:21:12

Loftily...grin

thatbags Mon 16-Jun-14 19:05:38

I think I need to change my username. Whadya think? LoftyBags or just Lofty?

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 16-Jun-14 19:15:57

SkyhighBags?

I just googled "lofty". The other meaning is "thick and resilient"!!! grin grin grin

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 16-Jun-14 19:16:21

Well, I think it's funny.

thatbags Mon 16-Jun-14 19:36:17

wink

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 16-Jun-14 20:20:40

I think that would make quite a good name on Gransnet.

rosesarered Mon 16-Jun-14 20:31:28

Only really short people can be called Lofty [it's a rule] smile

Ana Mon 16-Jun-14 20:43:12

Nooo...Lofty in Coronation Street (many years ago!) was extremely tall!

Maggiemaybe Mon 16-Jun-14 21:05:07

I liked Lofty in It Ain't Half Hot Mum. He could certainly hold a tune.

Ana Mon 16-Jun-14 21:31:05

(Just realised it was Eastenders the Lofty I'm thinking of was in...blush)

durhamjen Mon 16-Jun-14 22:22:24

My dad used to be called Lofty. He was 6'2 1/2".
