TPS cannot control cold calling from overseas, only if it occurs in the UK. A number of British firms have been fined for cold calling people on the TPS register, but many of the companies doing it are small local ones or regional companies and it is difficult for the TPS to get enough complaints about any individual firm to take action.
DH is at times inundated with calls from boiler rooms, companies out to sell him fake shares. All these companies are based abroad so there is nothing we can do to stop them. Just ring off the moment we recognise their purpose.
