AIBU or is he the most annoying person on the planet??

JamJar1 Thu 22-Oct-15 21:06:46

He annoys me too grannylyn but I suspect we are the minority. smile

Luckygirl Thu 22-Oct-15 21:20:00

No you are not. He gets right on my t*ts

Jomarie Thu 22-Oct-15 21:31:02

On mine too!!! But maybe not quite the most annoying person there are other contenders as a previous thread explored a while ago.

merlotgran Thu 22-Oct-15 21:58:50

I can't stand him either. Supercilious t**t

whitewave Thu 22-Oct-15 22:12:39

Grans!!!!! Control yourselves.shock

Grannyknot Thu 22-Oct-15 22:19:36

He gets on my one last nerve grin

Tegan Thu 22-Oct-15 22:25:14

Met him a few years ago and he was lovely so, no, he doesn't annoy me. It's strange how meeting [or knowing more about] someone changes how you view them.

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 22-Oct-15 22:44:18

Can't stand him.

durhamjen Thu 22-Oct-15 22:47:24

We met him last year at the Sage. He was charming and knowledgeable.
Perhaps he does not annoy those who agree with his ideas.

Deedaa Thu 22-Oct-15 22:57:38

I've always liked him although DH can't stand him.

Greyduster Thu 22-Oct-15 23:04:54

Can't bear to watch or listen to him, I'm afraid.

henetha Thu 22-Oct-15 23:10:23

well, i like him, so there!

rosequartz Thu 22-Oct-15 23:24:00

Supercilious t**t
merlotgran you are allowed to type the word twit, no-one will object grin

I always enjoyed watching him on Springwatch; he has definitely become more strident in his views nowadays which may upset some.

Robin page the telegraph columnist has had several spats with Chris packham. I can only cope with small doses of cp

merlotgran Thu 22-Oct-15 23:33:01

Go Robin!

durhamjen Thu 22-Oct-15 23:49:27

Didn't know who Robin Page was, so I looked him up. He's stood for more political parties than Nick Griffin, twice for Ukip. He was once arrested for inciting racial hatred, but found not guilty.
Somehow, I still prefer Chris Packham.

He pales into irritation insignificance next to Michaela Strachan, IMO, sorry. Bring back Kate Humble!

Tegan Fri 23-Oct-15 11:49:21

He's not a career naturalist like some but someone who has been obsessed with wildlife since early childhood, that's what I like about him. He still has boxes and boxes of stuff that he collected when a young boy. Mind you, the S.O. can't stand Jools Holland and has to leave the room when Later with Jools is on confused. Some people have that effect on others.

grannylyn65 Fri 23-Oct-15 12:07:39

Am really enjoying comments !grin

whenim64 Fri 23-Oct-15 12:08:31

He can be a bit patronising, but he's gone up in my estimation over recent years because he has integrity and he's passionate enough to stand up to the people who insist that sports involving harming wild animals for fun is justified. J'd like Kate Humble back, too.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 23-Oct-15 12:11:20

I hate to tell you this when but my daughter (who had quite a crush on him) went right off him when she saw a photo of him standing beside a huge fish he had landed. She wrote to him about it but got no reply.

shysal Fri 23-Oct-15 12:11:46

What is it about Springwatch presenters? I can't stand Chris or Michaela with their stupid banter, and nor could I stick Kate Humble or Bill Oddy. Maybe they are directed to behave in that way! I also used to get irritated by Martin Hughes-Games pushing his glasses up into his hair and down again, but think he must have either had laser surgery or uses lenses now.
Oh dear, how intolerant I am blush! Better not mention that I can't watch Jools Holland either, Tegan.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 23-Oct-15 12:13:40

He rang her once (can't remember how he got the phone number) and spent ages on the phone trying to sell her a wildlife watching holiday at a new business project he was starting. She didn't buy it. I was really cross at the time.

JamJar1 Fri 23-Oct-15 12:20:13

He has such a massive ego. Like the time he made it all about Chris when he did this,

I can't stand him. grin
