Eugenie’s wedding

AIBU to think that we should not have to pay the security costs for Eugenie’s wedding? Apparently she carries out no royal duties at all. I read that the money will come from local councils that apparently cannot afford money for car for the elderly, potholes etc etc. Really do feel that that particular branch of the Royal Family are not particularly good value and that is putting it very politely!

Not only the tabloids Lazigirl grin

Lazigirl Mon 27-Aug-18 15:28:58

Don't worry about an invite Jalima I'm sure you won't be noticed mingling unobtrusively grin with the royal gang. Just practice how they speak ya, and remember to ask for lavatory definitely not the toilet. I'm sure you could manage the York wardrobe admirably Ab but the tabloids are looking forward to bitching about how awful she and sister look so you don't want to spoil their fun - do you hmm

Jalima1108 Sun 26-Aug-18 20:51:08

Presumably Bea will be bridesmaid.
I do hope it is simple, long and unfussy.

Jalima1108 Sun 26-Aug-18 20:50:22

They certainly do.
We could show them a thing or two!

Anniebach Sun 26-Aug-18 20:47:24

I think I should take over Eugenie and Beatrice”s wardrobes They need my advice in my opinion

Jalima1108 Sun 26-Aug-18 20:41:48

Sorry, but you made me cough from laughing there grinAnniebach

Yes, I will borrow DD's Akubra and hang my precious gems from that!! Great idea.

Anniebach Sun 26-Aug-18 20:38:39

Jalima, you can't wear such a tiara , you will be more tiared than the bride

Why not hang the gems from the brim of your hat like Crocodile Dundee , you would be easily spotted by Lazigirl ?

Jalima1108 Sun 26-Aug-18 20:29:35

Worth a try!!

I am still awaiting my invitation to the wedding though.
HRH Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and his ex-wife The Duchess of York invite you to the wedding of ……. etc etc.

Must be lost in the post sad

Just when I had decided to wear a diamond, ruby and sapphire tiara on top of my hat instead of a flag.

Lazigirl. No one could work harder for the Welsh Tourist Board than I do ?

Lazigirl Sun 26-Aug-18 19:25:40

Well I think you two can claim to be good advertisements for Fly shoes and if you drop a cheeky email to them they may even facilitate your trip with car & chauffeur and some champers thrown in. Perhaps the Welsh Tourist Boards may throw in a little extra for the socks AB? Worth a try.

Anniebach Sun 26-Aug-18 16:06:18

With a Welsh flag on them Jalima ?, I really do have some with the flag on and buy my hankies from a Welsh craft shop , they have a red dragon in a corner, my husband did the same.

Jalima1108 Sun 26-Aug-18 15:45:06

hmm thinks, thinks, what can I put on the top of my hat to make me distinguishable

Don't Gransnetters wear scarves tied to their handbags if they go for a meet-up? I could tie a red, white and blue one round my hat

Jalima1108 Sun 26-Aug-18 15:43:02

Stripey ones Anniebach?
Or with a Welsh flag on the side? wink

Anniebach Sun 26-Aug-18 14:16:03

Lazigirl, as the wedding is in October I will be wearing socks with my Flyflots clogs, no one else will ?

Lazigirl Sun 26-Aug-18 14:00:35

I suspect there will be many elderly RF hangers on at the wedding looking like mushrooms despite/because of their designer gear, so you'll have to give more clues, red feather or something. Dear me, I am a republican and now I will be glued to the TV for this forthcoming distasteful event trying to spot you two GNs in your Fly shoes!

Jalima1108 Sun 26-Aug-18 11:19:45

I shall be wearing the large hat I had for DD's wedding, still quite fashionable, I hope, after all these years. No point in buying new, except for shoes.
Just look out for an old woman looking like a mushroom.

Lazigirl Sun 26-Aug-18 11:06:43

We won't see you because the others will all be wearing 6" heels, well the women that is, so will need a clue as to what else you'll be wearing, something bright would be helpful, possibly with hair/hat to match?

Anniebach Sun 26-Aug-18 11:03:55

You may not be the only one Jalima, I haven’t decided if I will attend, if I do my Flyflots will come with me ?

Jalima1108 Sun 26-Aug-18 10:59:13

I think Flyflot is now owned by Pavers

Look out for me amongst the wedding guests at Eugenie's wedding - I will be the only guest wearing Flyflots.
wink

Jalima1108 Sun 26-Aug-18 10:57:16

Very comfy Eloethan, if not very glamorous!

Lazigirl Sun 26-Aug-18 10:33:43

Neither had I Eloethan and I wouldn't think Flyflot (flyswat confused) would be a first choice for attractive marketing brand choice - but they do look nice and comfy, but very unlikely to be seen at a royal wedding.

Eloethan Sat 25-Aug-18 20:00:50

I'd never even heard of Flyflot until it was mentioned on here.

Jalima1108 Fri 24-Aug-18 19:59:36

I wish Lazigirl
It was just wishful thinking - although, on reflection, perhaps not as I prefer my Flyflot Mary Janes.

Lazigirl Fri 24-Aug-18 19:57:52

Are you a millionaire Jalima? I like clogs too but my last pair fell to bits as I was enroute to hospital for a scan and I had to run across wet car park in bare feet...........

Anniebach Fri 24-Aug-18 13:31:47

Be different ? I love clogs
