Heard of those Susuecb....some are called Knit and Natter...some Stich and Bitch!

I love Ravelry, get most of my patterns from their website and love looking at what other people have made using the same pattern (different variations). I am knitting for my grandaughter at the moment (easy baby cardigan knitting pure and simple free download). It's the best pattern I have ever used and easy, knitted on 24 inch circular needles (which I had never used before), no seams, body knitted in one piece and sleeves knitted on the body, no sewing up at the end just the hood seam on the hooded version. Have just finished the hood version and now started new one with collar but using 2 different types of wool to make it personalised.

I belong to a stitch and bitch group. Over the summer a (fairly) local cafe which also sells wool and other crafty items is opening on Monday evenings for just this purpose. It's very popular with ages raging from nearly seventeen to nearly seventeenty!

I love Ravelry too. I'm always surprised at how generous (and clever)the designers are -lots of the patterns are free. I've used the Drops design site and Patternfish too. I envy those of you with a local stitch and bitch group. My nearest yarn shop is a train ride away (and I live in London!)

And I love Ravelry - can't recommend it enough. Lots of lovely people (and the very occasional miserable b....r) always ready to help with any queries - and lots of great patterns.

I particularly like Frankie Brown who designs delightful patterns for childrens toys etc and posts them on Ravelry. They really are lovely. Whilst the patterns are free, if you wish you can make a donation to The Childrens Liver Foundation.

Ravelry is my favourite website. I hadn`t done any knitting for 25 years until my first granddaughter was born 3 years ago. I now have two granddaughters and always look at ravelry for patterns and ideas. I have paid for the odd pattern too but there is such a variety of lovely things that it`s a pleasure to browse the site.
