Would you vote for this man?

Tattooed candidate

j07 Thu 10-Jan-13 19:03:50

First reaction to picture - Eurghhh. But then I saw he is a professor of performing arts. So that's alright.

I guess I would go by his politics.

glassortwo Thu 10-Jan-13 19:14:18

Just proves you should not judge by looks alone.

Riverwalk Thu 10-Jan-13 20:02:27

I'd be suspicious of a man so obsessed with his body! He's tattooed from head to toe shock

mrshat Thu 10-Jan-13 20:19:31

I hate tattoos with a vengeance I'm afraid. I'm sure he is a very nice man but I would find having to see him every day in newspapers etc. would put me off!!!!!!!

Goose Thu 17-Jan-13 22:14:53

Oh dear, I have three tattoos, does this mean everyone hates me

NfkDumpling Thu 17-Jan-13 22:20:14

No, I wouldn't. I think he may be just a little obsessive even for a professor.

I'd rather like a tattoo. Just the one. But I haven't summoned up the courage yet. Can you get a temporary one to see if you like it?

annodomini Thu 17-Jan-13 22:20:35

What and where, Goose? My GD1 has acquired two new (but fortunately subtle) tattoos to celebrate her 21st birthday and my niece has a butterfly on her rump.

NfkDumpling Thu 17-Jan-13 22:20:37

I thought perhaps a dragon fly.

NfkDumpling Thu 17-Jan-13 22:21:29

On my shoulder.

NfkDumpling Thu 17-Jan-13 22:22:41

A butterfly may be nice.

NfkDumpling Thu 17-Jan-13 22:23:12

But wouldn't it hurt more on your bum?

annodomini Thu 17-Jan-13 22:24:00

Nfk lots of temp tattoos though mostly for kids - how about a dinosaur or skull and crossbones?

NfkDumpling Thu 17-Jan-13 22:28:32

Gosh, I remember them from when I was at school! I've heard henna lasts a while. The trouble is it's henna coloured.

NfkDumpling Thu 17-Jan-13 22:30:47

I like the birds of a feather and the dandelion.

annodomini Thu 17-Jan-13 22:39:27

My GD put a mermaid on my ankle once when we were on holiday. Looked quite appropriate in Provence, though probably not on the streets of Poynton. It washed off in a couple of days. I'd go for the dandelion!

Goose Thu 17-Jan-13 22:52:22

NfkDumpling Hello. I've had my three tattoos done over the last few years, when I was over 60yrs! It's something I'd always wanted and never had the courage to do before but in the end I did - for me.
I had a henna one done first...a black scorpion on my shoulder, just to see how I'd cope with 'the comments' and after I found no one really took any notice, went on for the 'real thing'. It does hurt, well I think it does, though a lot of others say it doesn't...My three are ones I designed myself and therefore mean something to me. You can take in your own design to the Tattooist when you go (if you want to). No one really knows I have them because I've chosen to have them on areas of my body that aren't exposed a lot (eg: my shoulder, and I don't like wearing short sleeves as I see my arms as 'fat'). IMO if you want to do something for yourself that in no way harms anybody else, then go for it!!

newgran1 Tue 19-Mar-13 10:13:59

i regret my tattoos .... i was 50 when i had them done and should have known better!!!

i would love to get rid of them !!! the one on one arm is ok but the others
( on my shoulder and top of my other arm) i hate .... i dont even want to say what they are ....... i certainly wish i had not had them done and cover them up

as for the question .... the tattoos are a bit off putting but if hes the best choice then it wouldnt bother me

Nonu Tue 19-Mar-13 10:53:33

Could not for all the world summon the courage to get tattooed .

I could not vote for someone with a tattoo , whatever his political leanings .

Think all the tattoos Beckham has are quite gross , make his body look dirty , IMHO

[hmmm]

ninathenana Tue 19-Mar-13 11:37:27

DD was going to get a scorpion (birth sign) on the base of her spine for her 18th.
She got as far as the door of the parlor turned round and has never considered it again grin

Lilygran Tue 19-Mar-13 12:23:11

Nonu how would you know? Perhaps they've all got hidden tattoos and that's why they still wear suits and ties all the time?

Nonu Fri 22-Mar-13 14:00:36

crikey , you could be right , Lily

Jadey Fri 22-Mar-13 14:10:48
