Catdigan!

Someone asked me on another thread if I could knit and I didn't want to divert the thread. But this is my latest project. The Sinister Catdigan!! Not looking forward to steeking it but I'll have a go!! Pictures are WIP and how I hope it will look in the end.

Anyone else tried this pattern?

I've always fought shy of steeking. I know it's easier to do fair isle in the round but the thought of taking scissors to my work is too scary.

I will do it one day though - maybe on a sample square.

As a big fan of cats and cardigans

I approve this project

You are so clever. I have Catdigan envy and want one.

Anyone else tried this pattern?

Is that 4 ply?

I don't think I'm that good at knitting any more. I have done pictures and patterns years ago but not for a long time.

They're lovely. Well done

Oh my goodness, that catdigan is going to be absolutely gorgeous. No way could I knit that.
You are indeed clever.

Oh, you have the patience of a saint! ? It’s beautiful and such fine yarn. ❤️

I just don’t have the temperament to do such painstaking work now, though I used to make my DC cardigans in 2ply yarn. Why? I ask myself. grin

PS I love cats too, but after our last one died we have been cat free. ?

Gosh volver an absolute work of art.

BoadiceaJones Tue 29-Mar-22 22:05:54

Just wow! A real work of (he)art. Wish I could knit - well, more than scarves for the DGC, at least.

OnwardandUpward Tue 29-Mar-22 22:19:10

Oh WOW I am a bit cat fan but cannot knit! I love love love this!

OnwardandUpward Tue 29-Mar-22 22:19:28

A BIG cat fan! (Typo)

Thank you so much for all the nice comments. ?. It is 4 ply Callistemon. But SueDonim, cardigans in 2 ply, now that takes patience!

The pattern is by a company called An Caitin Beag, who make lots of catty/crafty things.

If they were for sale they'd have to be really expensive... They must take ages! Amazing creation Volver!

Wow - very beautiful - and I know why it’s described as a caTdigan, up my poor befuddled brain is seizing up trying not to make it a caRdigan. ?‍?️

SueDonim Tue 29-Mar-22 23:20:48

2ply baby garments last for ages - mainly because by the time I finished, the baby had grown so big it didn’t fit. ?

I go for more-or-less instant results nowadays. blush

Gorgeous pattern but I've never attempted steeking so would avoid that part.

grannydarkhair Tue 29-Mar-22 23:37:31

Those caTdigans are fab. Very clever.
