Gorki - there may be people who haven't read it yet and could gain some information from the previous posts. If people stop posting, the thread will drop off anyway.

Do not be embarrassed GORKI .

Repeating things that have already been said happens on threads and in conversation. Sometimes things need to be said lots of times. Sometimes the same thing needs to be said but in a different way. Sometimes I forget what was said pages and pages ago.

Yes I take calcium as well along with the Vitamins. Both of these work.

feetlebaum Mon 23-Feb-15 08:52:08

Of course vitamins 'work' - otherwise why would your body manufacture most of them? I think the question at the head of this venerable thread should have been 'do vitamin supplements work?'

The answer is probably 'yes - if you are deficient in them'. Otherwise they just pass through you, to create vitamin-enriched sewage.

rosequartz Mon 23-Feb-15 10:01:33

feetle some may not pass through you so an overdose could be as bad as a deficiency.

Galen Mon 23-Feb-15 10:14:55

Bit D overdose is dangerous as is A

I believe there are certain nutrional supplements extras to be found in red wine and dark chocolate. I forget what they are but they taste good.

Soutra Mon 23-Feb-15 13:10:51

Somebody has brought out a chocolate which makes your skin look 10 years younger - what's not to like? grin

janerowena Mon 23-Feb-15 13:17:26

I saw that - but was too scared to google the price!

Galen Mon 23-Feb-15 13:42:01

Where? Where's?

loopylou Mon 23-Feb-15 13:44:41

Probably the cost will cause more wrinkles and self-perpetuating purchases [grn]

loopylou Mon 23-Feb-15 13:45:09

[grn]?
grin

rosequartz Mon 23-Feb-15 14:27:40

Do you eat it or melt it and spread it on your face like a face mask? grin

amarmai Mon 23-Feb-15 14:53:47

Ariadne you r so correct re the importance of B vitamins for vegetarians. When i changed my diet to meatless i gradually lost mobility due to lack of vitB12. I also take B6, D, C+lycine, and calcium combined with magnesium.

Yep! I can see how that works.

You eat it, you put on weight and all the wrinkles of your bum derrière smooth out

You eat even more, put on even more weight and then the ones on your face smooth out too. Just like a balloon bring pumped up.

I've been vegetarian for nearly forty years, amarmai, and have never needed to take vitamin B tablets.
I have blood tests quite often for other problems, and my vitamin readings have always been within the required levels.

amarmai Tue 24-Feb-15 18:05:50

it was the sudden change that caused the problem, durhamjen. Decades later i continue with b supplements as i never want to have that kind of pain and lack of mobility again.
