Creator of the children's favourite 'Paddington bear' also has a series of books for grown ups.
They concern a French detective, Monsieur Pamplemousse and his erstwhile companion - a bloodhound named Pommes Frites.
They are hilarious, pure farce, confusion and misdirection everywhere.
Pamplemousse left the police after an unfortunate incident with a Can Can chorus line. He now works as an inspector for 'Le Guide' a sort of Michelin review of high quality restaurants throughout France. Crime and good food mix throughout the books and each of my collection has been enjoyed many times.
Highly recommended
