I was given this a couple of years ago.

It's sitting on my shelf but I just can't seem to pick it up to read.

The subject seems so NOT Bryson.

Has anybody read and ENJOYED it? Can you convince me it's worth reading?!
Thanks.

Can’t help you there as I haven’t read it but, in general I do enjoy his books. And I must read his ‘brief history of ‘book. Unlike his other books I think they’re more books to dip into rather than read from beginning to end in one do. I loved his At Home book.

My husband has read all his books apart from that one. He said he didn't fancy it but he could be wrong of course!

Isn’t it the last book he wrote? Got fed up of all of the research after that. So it could be the lack of enthusiasm shows.

I enjoyed it - very informative and amusing in parts. I've read all of his books and enjoy his style.

I’ve read it. It isn’t a whizz-through-it book and some of it was a bit complex for me but there are some amazing facts in it. Def worth a bash!

I've read it too and enjoyed it. Even though I studied and taught biology I still found out things I didn't know and like his writing style.

I read it and enjoyed it - but I like factual books rather than lots of fiction. I fell in love with 'Notes from a Small Island' many years ago and enjoyed most of his books since.

Ooh ? when was this one published ?

It's one of those books you dip into now and again. This book is very informative and in a way that is easy to understand. I must admit I'm biased as I'm a huge fan of everything he writes.

Thanks, everyone. Feeling a bit more tempted now.
