Could you offer to stay for a couple of nights to allow her to have a massage/dinner out with friends?

I think what that lady actually NEEDS is time for herself - with someone to go and sit with her husband so that she might go shopping/have her hair done/meet a friend/read a book, etc.

You can't provide that, as you live far from her. Perhaps some flowers or even a letter to ask how she is?

My BiL has mixed fronto temporal dementia and Alzheimer’s. He has no insight or capacity and is looked after by his wife 24/7.
She is finding aspects of his illness difficult to manage on many levels and is becoming increasingly isolated. We are only able to provide telephone support as we live a long distance from them.

I would like to be able to send them/her a small thoughtful gift/s.
I’m a crafter so in the past have sent gifts that I’ve made/sent flowers etc but am a bit stumped as to what I can send that doesn’t cost a fortune to post and might actually be useful.

All suggestions gratefully received.
