We have such a laugh this morning . Found evidence of chewed paper etc .

Mr Nonu duly set trap last night , a new fangled one , and the cheeky little blighter took cheese and ran .

They must be getting cleverer . grin

Then they can get on with reproducing!

Nonu Wed 07-Nov-12 11:00:58

Yoga , don"t be showing off !

Traps set last night with stilton and peanut , all gone but no mousie , himself is going to redouble his efforts now ! grin

gracesmum Wed 07-Nov-12 11:07:40

Posh bait! Stilton indeed grin

Nonu Wed 07-Nov-12 11:10:04

Grace !! LAL

Anne58 Wed 07-Nov-12 11:11:53

Oh heavens, Maurice would have had a dilemma! He has a passion for cheese, and stilton is his absolute favourite.

Mr P and I daren't say the word "cheese" as Maurice will go to the fridge and sit there until he gets some.

We have to refer to it as "solid dairy product". Do sometimes get some odd looks in the supermarket.

Phoenix , does that mean he not going to winging his way to me now ?

Shame , had a nice basket ready for him ! grin

jeni Wed 07-Nov-12 11:38:14

I think mice are nice!

Ana Wed 07-Nov-12 11:44:25

So do I! But not in my house...hmm

Anne58 Wed 07-Nov-12 11:55:00

Nonu if you had "solid dairy product" around, then I'm afraid that would take precedence over rodent control!

Nanadog Wed 07-Nov-12 11:57:26

Mice
I think mice
Are rather nice.
Their tails are long,
Their faces small,
They haven't any
Chins at all.
Thier ears are pink,
There teeth white.
They run about the house at night
And they nibble things they shouldn't touch,
And no one seems to like them much
But i think mice are nice.

Nonu Wed 07-Nov-12 12:02:11

Phoenix , LOL

Anne58 Wed 07-Nov-12 12:38:03

I must get round to putting some photos on my profile, Maurice can be persuaded to pose quite nicely if a bit of Brie is wafted around just out of shot.

annodomini Wed 07-Nov-12 13:03:37

The redoubtable Digby too, I hope!

Anne58 Wed 07-Nov-12 13:06:28

Ah, yes, Digby! Very easy to photograph, providing you use a wide angle lens.

Just spent the weekend with a cat like that, phoenix. He's one of my family's cats, called Clive. Drapes himself over the back of the sofa.

kittylester Wed 07-Nov-12 13:30:36

Bit late - but, well done phoenix, he was born during that rugby tournament thing in the summer. Our littlest cat had 4 kittens, we gave 3 away and kept one (Kiwi) then the mum left home and the two oldest cats (who were mother and son) got really poorly had to be put down within 2 months of each other. So we went from a house with 7 cats to one with just 1, inside a couple of months. sad

Anne58 Wed 07-Nov-12 13:38:41

Oh kitty that is sad! When we lost Clucky a few months back, even though we still had Maurice and Lily, it just didn't seem right, hence the acquisition of Digby Kevin Wilberforce Hudson.

Anno but has it ever fallen off the back of the sofa, as Digby did a few weeks ago?

annodomini Wed 07-Nov-12 23:51:10

Not in my presence, phoenix but it seems all too probable. Quite the laziest cat I have ever known. While they were away for a week, instead of using the cat flap, he went upstairs and peed in the bath!.

Just remembered summat funny. My little sister back in the 1950s got two 'male' white mice in a mouse cage, which she kept in the garden shed. Well, one male turned out to be female and little mouslets were born. Some escaped through the bars which were there to keep grown mice inside, and went next door.

The lady next door, who had no idea about my sister's pets, told Mum one day about her problem with mice in the house. She said " I wouldn't mind, but the weird thing is, they are WHITE".

Mum pretended to be surprised!

My own solution to mice in the house has always been - get a cat!!

Mamie Sun 11-Nov-12 16:27:47

My daughter's cat brings mice and frogs and bats in through the catflap....

crimson Sun 11-Nov-12 16:30:32

Don't you have to be very careful when it comes to bats?

jeni Sun 11-Nov-12 16:58:47

Why? Bats are lovely. Particularly old ones!grin

crimson Sun 11-Nov-12 17:18:29

I thought they carried rabies?
