I'm awake. I woke with a start and realised I had been having a nightmare. Had a wee walk about and a drink (of water) and now heading back to bed for hopefully another couple of hours kip.
Good morning - have you surfaced yet? I wandered off to play Scrabble online with an insomniac friend until around 7-00am, then crept back to bed, promptly fell asleep and woke up again at 9-30am.
Couple pf painkillers at 6.30 (knees and back playing up) knocked me out until after 8. Wish I'd just got up instead of trying to fight it. How is your shoulder now galen?
I didn't sleep at all last night; currently cleaning out the utility room but got to be up early'ish tomorrow to see an exhibition at Nottingham uni [Lakeside].
Bellasnana Where are you? I felt so tired earlier tonight, so I went to bed at 9.00 and must have dozed off, as woke up about an hour ago with the book still in my hand, glasses on and light beaming…so came downstairs and have been playing Scrabble online - don't think it's going to help to switch my brain off though. What's the exhibition Tegan?
I am in Malta. I play Wordfeud and words with friends too. I think my addiction to the iPad has a lot to answer for as it seems to stimulate the brain. Hope you get to sleep soon. 'Night night
Still up (duh, stating the bleedin' obvious!) next stage is to get out of the (home) office, put on night attire, into bed and read book until (hopefully) start to feel sleepy.
It's the Pop Art to Brit Art exhibition Goose. The other year they had a Lowry exhibition [as big as the one that's been on in London] and they're all free.
….Have just surfaced. I finally crawled up to bed at around 3-00am after ??? games of Scrabble, then find myself lying there thinking of all the wonderful zqyjk-y words I could/should have put down - so, still a bad night - feeling kind of brain dead
Bellasnana - I reckon you're right about word games being too stimulating. I have the idea crashing around in my head (at 1.00am onwards) that if I play a concentrating game then my brain will tire and sleep, but the opposite happens. Reading doesn't have quite the same effect , though I usually wake with a painful neck - which doesn't help. Tegan - hope you're alert enough to appreciate the paintings (It must be daunting to look at a Lowry whilst still in 'sleep mode' Right! I'm tired. Back to bed for a morning nap. baubles and Granny23 - hope you managed to get some shuteye
Morning, Goose. Yes, those games do keep your brain working when you want to sleep. I am ashamed to admit that I can't concentrate on reading a book any more and I used to be a prolific reader. I really must start disciplining myself! I had around three and a half hours sleep last night but feel remarkably chipper this morning for some reason Hope you have a good day
Good morning! it's going to be another long day. I'm off to play Scrabble for a while and will keep checking, just to see if anyone else here is up for a chat on this dark and cold morning
g'morning Granny23. I feel like I'm the only soul in the neighbourhood still not sleeping! So, so tired. I envy these folk who fall asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow. I just go onto (Facebook) Scrabble to while away the time, then will finally crawl up back to bed and sleep for a couple of hours and start the day again at a reasonable hour. How about you? do you have a pattern?
Well it is Restless Legs or Involuntary Limb Movements that keep waking me up. I often have it around midnight or 1.00 so I hope about and playing games on computer until it calms down. Then off to bed sleep for maybe an hour then get wakened up again. I can usually sleep after 6.00 or 7.00am and at anytime during daylight hours but LIFE has to be lived mainly in the day-time so I spend most of my time yawning my head off.
