The thread about the cost of cleaning carpets set off the old '1001 cleans a big big carpet for less than half a crown' advert in my head and it made me wonder whether I was brainwashed by ITV as a child. I still believe a Mars a day helps me work rest and play and that Pal dog food prolongs active life! Anyone else still wondering where the yellow went after brushing their teeth with Pepsodent?

Hot chocolate, drinking chocolate

trisher Mon 14-Sep-15 19:58:35

If you want a lot of chocolate on your biscuit join our Club.
Bought some recently and you couldn't sing that now the chocolate barely coats the biscuit!
Only the crumbliest flakiest chocolate tastes like chocolate never tasted before.

Now hands that do dishes can be soft as your face with brand new Fairy liquid.
Not sure about the brand- it might have been soft?

Oh dear I watched far too much TV!!

trisher Mon 14-Sep-15 19:59:15

No it's just come back it was 'mild'!!

Did you have the tigers tail hanging from your petrol cap? We did!

And then there were the goodies buried in the packets of Kellogs cornflakes. I remember my collection of plastic battleships. They didn't float.

The advert for a Finger of Fudge.

"A finger of fudge is just enough to give your kid a treat.
It's full of Cadbury Goodness and very small and neat."

My son aged about four/five wouldn't eat them and when he was older he explained that he thought that the advert said.

"It's full of PEPPERY goodness. smile

I like a nice cup of tea in the morning, just to start the day you see
And at half past eleven, well my idea of heaven is a nice cup of tea.
I like tea when I'm thirsty at dinner and a nice cup of tea with my tea.
And about this time of night, what goes down a treat, you're right, is a
nice cup of tea. brew

I have no idea which brand of tea this was advertising and no idea why I can remember it after all these years!
