When watching program's where the public are involved I'm guilty of being critical of what some women wear. Do they not think ' I'm going to be on national TV, so I'm going to look good' One of the worst offending program's is Bargain Hunt. There has been women on there who don't even bother putting makeup on, let alone going to the hairdressers.
I won't elaborate on what I think of the fleece jackets they are forced to wear. Putting hard hat on. Lol.

Lots of onesies mentioned here. Ugh! Hate them! In bed right now, so wearing pyjamas. Nearly midnight here in California.

Old navy t-shirt, cut off white spotty pj bottoms - and a bed pink bra tchgrin

Doing tax return later, so might not get dressed at all today - shock horror! tchshock

Nightie and tiger onesie and cosy slippers. I've been awake since 4:30 and after an hour got up and pottered about. I shall go back to bed in a bit with tea and a bowl of porridge.

Nearly 11am and still in pj's. No apologies, this is the joy of retirement.

Alea Wed 30-Dec-15 09:52:21

Due to my DS calling me old all the time I am now sitting on my settee with my new black t shirt on with the saying:

"I may be old but at least I got to see the best bands".

It was to totally naff him off as I got to see Mr. Mercury in Queen in 1982 which he is so jealous about, and he should not call me old! Plus I have seen plenty of others too. He has been in a bad mood with me since he saw my t shirt. tchgrin

I don't wear make up a lot outside, I don't even wear my glasses most times, it does tend to make everyone look so much better! lol

I never looked that gorgeous when I was young! (they are about 40, is that young? - yes, of course it is!)

Ana Mon 28-Dec-15 21:09:06

some people can wear any old thing and still look good. My young friend and her friend who appeared on Bargain Hunt still managed to look gorgeous in their blue fleeces

I think the clue is in the word 'young', rose! tchgrin

I buy M&S wide-leg pull on trousers mostly in black and I wear them all the time I am in the house. With jumpers or teeshirts depending on the temperature. it means of course that everytime I go out I have to get changed but I like clothes and don't mind it.
I always wear some make up because I am so pale and my skin which used to be pinky is now more grey and looks washed out. I use a simple blusher and then nobody makes remarks and ask me if I'm not well!

Back to the OP - some people can wear any old thing and still look good. My young friend and her friend who appeared on Bargain Hunt still managed to look gorgeous in their blue fleeces tchsmile

She wasn't shouting. Just accentuating. tchsmile. No over-reacting if you please.

petra Mon 28-Dec-15 12:58:28

Oh dear. We've got to the shouty bit. Won't stoke the fire anymore. As you were.

Elegran Mon 28-Dec-15 12:57:44

Wearing make-up and taking care of your skin are not the same thing.

rosequartz Mon 28-Dec-15 12:56:25

Good genes!

thatbags Mon 28-Dec-15 12:54:40

I use a small amount of simple moisturiser, jings. That's not the same as make-up. What you said about make-up is rubbish.

I've nothing against make-up for people who want to wear it, but the difference between me and some others is that I've no prejudices against people choosing not to wear make-up either.

I was persuaded to pay a fortune for some face cream from John Lewis (I had a gift voucher which paid half), the girl said it would get rid of age spots on my face tchhmm
I was very sceptical, but it does seem to be working!! Or perhaps because it only appears if I go out in the sun which we haven't seen for ages.

Just to make a distinction; I was coveting Reeta's jacket, don't mind what she wears really as she always does a good job. However, I would not covet Hugh's jacket, it wouldn't suit me, that's why I was commenting on what a woman was wearing and not a man. tchgrin

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 28-Dec-15 12:49:19

You wait girl. It'll catch up with ya.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 28-Dec-15 12:48:44

We will take your word for it Bags. (You are very young) tchsmile

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 28-Dec-15 12:47:21

tchgrin It's not rubbish. You can't beat a decent bit of face cream. Wish I could find mine. Paid twenty six pounds for some. Can't find it anywhere. tchhmm Thank the Lord for free samples.

thatbags Mon 28-Dec-15 12:47:08

I'm all for liking jackets smile

thatbags Mon 28-Dec-15 12:46:01

or a dreid prune ?

rosequartz Mon 28-Dec-15 12:45:58

I did like the jacket that Reeta Chakrabarti wore to read the evening news yesterday
Yes, me too, Alima, I wanted to phone her and ask where she bought it!
(probably v expensive)

thatbags Mon 28-Dec-15 12:45:27

If that were true I'd be as wrinkled as old parchment and I'm not. QED
