The school holidays are upon us and no doubt we will get the usual influx of posts attempting to annoy, upset or shock us. I would like to send a message to those thinking of posting along those lines:

Many of us were teenagers in the 60s so there is nothing you can post which we haven't said, heard, seen or done. (In addition we got to see all the cool bands)

All your silly posts do is make us feel sorry you think this is the only way to have fun. Why not go and ask your gran how she had fun when she was your age? On second thoughts perhaps you shouldn't as you may be in for a shock wink

"They all seemed to be overweight unemployed graduates from northern working class areas.:

Wow! Me to a T - how ever did you know?

Lily65, I have always believed that you could not get Pasties north of Worcester. How we all live and learn on GN.

I hope these GransNet posting Northern Pasty eating Trolls pay import duty on these West country delicacies, as we need the money down here.grin

M0nica, if you look back over this thread since your post @18:13 today there have been a number of humorous questions and queries related to that posting. Again, why single out my post for your sole attention?

M0nica Mon 08-Apr-19 20:17:12

I was replying to your question.

Grandad1943 Mon 08-Apr-19 20:09:11

By the way M0nica, why are you only addressing your post to me. After all, there were a number of other forum members who found great humour in your post of 18:13pm today. Why single me out?

Lily65 Mon 08-Apr-19 20:07:02

any links please to these pasty eating Northern trolls?

Grandad1943 Mon 08-Apr-19 20:00:23

M0nica, with every respect but I feel that it is you with your earlier post that has brought great humour to this thread.

By the way, were these humourless Trolls who have been taken to court for posting on Grans Net all of one gender, Men?

M0nica Mon 08-Apr-19 19:52:38

grandad this thread is about humourles trolls on gransnet. These were humourless trolls, and rather nasty with it.

I made it very clear I was not doing any stereotyping, just describing those who made it into court and the media - and they were graduates, not undergraduates.

I actually was very surprised by the profile of the very few who made it into court and the media and I am certainly not suggesting that this is typical.

Grandad1943 Mon 08-Apr-19 19:30:10

Ah, there are a few that could possibly come to mind Day6.

And wind is a thing I am often not short of. wink

kittylester Mon 08-Apr-19 19:29:12

I'm an inbetweenie!! I'm not a graduate, definitely overweight, my mum said I am middle class and I've just taken my pinny off! I feel bewildered.

Day6 Mon 08-Apr-19 19:25:06

Ah...maybe Grandad.

How many Grannies have you tried to put the wind up lately? grin

Grandad1943 Mon 08-Apr-19 19:09:50

I consider myself working class. Overweight, no. Undergraduate, no.
Northern, some people may consider Somerset to be in the north, but possibly not.

So, does one out of four qualify for the above stereotype? confused

Lily65 Mon 08-Apr-19 18:45:55

I like to think of you in a pinafore ( like When the boat Comes in) lobbing a stottie.

maryeliza54 Mon 08-Apr-19 18:45:38

??????????????

Maggiemaybe Mon 08-Apr-19 18:43:32

I do hope that week old stottie I just lobbed towards the Southern softies’ camp didn’t take anyone’s eye out. grin

M0nica3 Quote [ If yu have seen pictures of the people jailed for vile and abusive posts threatening death etc. There have been a number of these trials, one chap has been jailed several times.

They all seemed to be overweight unemployed graduates from northern working class areas. That is a statement of the profile of those convicted, not a sterotyping if this group.] End Quote

Well, I am totally lost in regard to how the above is relevant to this thread or any other thread or recent topic to honest.

Great Stuff. grin

Oldwoman70 Mon 08-Apr-19 18:39:34

Oh dear - what have I started! I began this thread as a light hearted note to those who think they can upset the Grans (and yes they do seem to increase during school holidays).

If there are any buns going - I'll have one!

Riverwalk Mon 08-Apr-19 18:31:05

Lily65 Mon 08-Apr-19 18:29:03
