Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its a dry start here in Brackley this morning, a day of some housework.
I also see the Nurse at my surgery as to Diabetic results.
I then plan an easy day , with housework and changing things about.

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Grey and damp in South Yorkshire with more rain to come later. I have some cooking to do this morning and then school run later, but essentially a slow day. NanKate your GS’s sound like proper imps!?. I get messages from mine composed wholly of emoticons and I am supposed to work out what he is saying! I’m not very good at it! Have a good day folks.

Goodmorning all from a bright still Norfolk. No snowdrops REȘURGAM but some crocus flowers in my tubs. I am waiting for the chimney sweep, the dogs are sulking as I had to let the kitchen range go out last night to cool down for sweeping. Pointing out to them that Border collies and Huskies are outdoor dogs got me a look that clearly said "in your dreams not in this house". Have a good Monday everyone.

Good Morning from an increasingly cloudy Black Country.

Partner has a Hospital appointment today, hence I didn't get up until 8am, rather than the usual 6.30am to take him to the train station.

I was intending to go on my Walking for Health walk this morning, but heavy rain is forecast and having only just got over this cold, I think I will give it a miss, as still coughing. May go to the gym, as I have not been for quite a long time.

Ordered our new washing machine yesterday, but it will be a few days before delivered, so looks like using Mums again this week.

Our Snowdrops are just starting to peep out Resurgam

Pleased you are feeling better NanKate it's been a long haul for you!

Lovely photo Yiayia I have only been to Scotland twice, to Edinburgh and Helensburgh. Another visit on the cards hopefully!

Wishing everyone a good day, especially Gilly as after yesterdays post, I really think you should go to A&E and make a bit of a fuss! Hoping Marydoll is ok, and I don't think she posted yesterday?

NannyJan53 Mon 13-Jan-20 08:50:43

smileNanKate I meant to mention, that your grandsons sound very lively and mischievous! I sometimes get WhatsApps from my 11 year old DGD most made up of emoticons! grin

Goodmorning Mick and all x

Blue sky here in SE Essex, but no doubt the wind and rain will arrive sometime today.

Off for a personal training session then Callanetics this morning. Might have to sort out the remaining larder cupboard (have been putting it off as I have a feeling there may be a few "antique" tins and jars lurking.

I hope marydoll and "gillybob* are ok.

Keep safe and out of trouble folks.

Marydoll Mon 13-Jan-20 08:56:39

Good morning all from a damp Glasgow, it doesn't look too promising.
However, we do have a beautiful sky and to the north in the direction of Ben Lomond, there is sprinkling of snow on the hills, all very picturesque.

I hope to get out for my cardiac rehabilitaion walk, as I haven't had a good weekend, but feel a wee bit better today.
We had wedding planning meeting arranged for yesterday, but the hotel made a mistake with the date, so it was cancelled. I was so relieved, as I just couldn't face it. (Not the wedding, just the decision making!!)

My torturous hip and back exercises await me and a bit of pottering about. What a joyful day I have in store! grin.
I will also phone the venue to try and sort out some tables (they don't reserve) for the Glesca Grannies meet up. I'm so looking forward to it.

Nannytopsy, I loved your poultry story! That is the kind of thing which would definitely happen to me! ?

Yiayia, we watched a Michel Portillo train journey at the weekend, based around Loch Ness and he also took a boat trip, I think it was on i Player.

Thank you to all the kind Gransnetters, who have supported me in the last few days, it has been a great boost. I'm not feeling sorry for myself, just blooming frustrated!!!

My very best wishes to all who are poorly or sad. flowers

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Annapops Mon 13-Jan-20 09:11:18

GC duties here this morning where the weather looks bright so far in County Durham. We're planning a bus journey into the city today, a real treat for the little one as she is always in the car.
" Not the tram, " she declared when we told her. She must think she's going to Beamish.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Mapleleaf Mon 13-Jan-20 09:11:48

Good morning,

Bright and dry for now, but don't think it's going to last.
A mostly quiet day today after quite a busy weekend.
Hope everyone has a good day, and ?to all feeling unwell or sad.

EllanVannin Mon 13-Jan-20 09:18:46

Good Morning All x
Nice and bright so far and slightly breezy.

Still with this awful cough and felt like a wet rag yesterday and at times struggled to breathe. I've never felt like this in my life and have been able to shake off anything that came along. Where the devil this came from I don't know but it's horrible.

I had wanted to attend a funeral today but it scares me that if I get a chill on top of this, it'll see me off as well as I haven't really been far for this last couple of weeks.
What a moaning Minnie !

I just hope to goodness nobody gets this " bug " or those who feel under the weather pick up soon. x There's a lot of it about.
Hope the appointment for DH goes well Susan and that you get to see the family , ,Marydoll take it easy and thoughts to the Gillybobs xx

gillybob Mon 13-Jan-20 09:19:57

Good morning from the NE coast where we have a lovely bright start but heavy rain, wind and a severe weather warning in place for later today and tomorrow .

Just waiting to get DH up and sorted and given that the lottery did not come good for us at the weekend, I am off to “that place” for some more damage limitation . Oh how I hate Monday’s and Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s.........

Hoping the GP telephones later (as she said she would) in order to try and hurry my referral along. I now have a high pitched whine in my left ear along with the pain in my nose, eye and jaw and I don’t know where to put myself . Don’t know how I will face being at work but it has to be done.

I totally understand your sheer frustration Marydoll . The exercises do sound a bit torturous but will do you the world of good, I hope. ?

I hope all of those feeling poorly or under the weather begin to feel better soon. Surely we are all due some sunshine .

To those enjoying happier times, long may they continue. smile

Gillybob xx

Yiayia4 Mon 13-Jan-20 09:20:10

Thanks Lins it's been good.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Back to walking Netball after a long break. It'll be nice to catch up with everyone there, although there are a lot off with various ailments.
Doesn't look like the sunshine is going to last and we'll all be battening down the hatches tonight.
Big ((hug)) to Gillybob and all of you.xx

conor Mon 13-Jan-20 09:33:34

Good morning from yet another sunny day in Essex. High winds forecast for later so had better "batten down the hatches"! Had a lovely day yesterday at RHS Hyde Hall. Went with 2 very good friends and we enjoyed Sunday roast before our walk and finished with coffee and cake! Back for Sunday evening TV which is my favourite viewing night. Tidying up day today, ready for busy week. So sorry Gillybobs is still suffering, things have got to improve very soon and best wishes to Marydoll who always seems to add humour to her post, regardless of how she is feeling Xxx

GrannySomerset Mon 13-Jan-20 09:44:40

Late start today with the most important job being to decide on a replacement television. DH has belatedly realised that he is missing out by not having a smart tv and thinks we should invest in one. I use catch up in my iPad but he can’t cope with something so fiddly, so it seems fair enough. May change his mind when he sees the price tags, but we’ll see.

Thinking as always of the many on this thread who are in any way unwell or struggling with life. I hate January!

Jaan12 Mon 13-Jan-20 10:17:39

Good morning from Fife. Very dark and

moggie Mon 13-Jan-20 10:31:44

Good morning Mick & all from dry, cloudy Nottingham.
Library & ironing today.
Hope you get your urgent referral Gillybob
Have a good day everyone & hope all not well or struggling turn the corner soon.

Kalu Mon 13-Jan-20 10:46:48

Good morning all from a dreich and damp Glasgow.

It’s just that time of year when we have to remind ourselves that spring is on the way☀️?. Just wish it would hurry up a bit!

EllenV Struggling for breath is not a good sign as this bug has seen others with those symptoms, which could well be a sign, antibacs are needed. I phoned our surgery when DH was similar and he was seen later that day and immediately prescribed antibacs. This bug seems to be worse than a normal cold or flu which do pass in time. Take care of yourself.

Plan today is to hopefully start ticking off the ‘to do’ list I complied yesterday. All those tedious little jobs I have ignored will be at least looked at today?

Hoping you and the mutt are enjoying a romp in the woodies Oldgaijin?

Best wishes to those in the sick bay and a pleasant day for others.

BladeAnnie Mon 13-Jan-20 10:51:43

Good Morning all who follow and hoping we all have a good day. Harrigran, we too witnessed a beautiful moon last night and it must have been chilly as it was a very starry sky too. Yiayia4 - love the photo. We are doing the North Coast 500 tour in May and really excited about it!! It is actually going to be our honeymoon as DOH and I are saying "I do" at Gretna Green and then embarking on our road trip. Thoughts are with all who struggling at present

MawB Mon 13-Jan-20 11:08:51

Good morning from N Bucks where it seems to be alternating “looks a lot like Spring” and “hunker down and hibernate because there’s lots more cold, wet weather to come”
A lovely day in Epping Forest yesterday - lunch at a bustling, noisy but very friendly pub (the Owl for those who know it) where DGS made a new “friend ( Autumn, also 3) and after lunch had a wonderful time in the children’s playground with her. He then terrified the natives by careering along the footpaths on his little balance bike!
What an amazing amenity Epping Forest is -I live in the country, but do not have access to as much dog walking, cycling or just plain walking space as everything is somebody’s fields or you have to cross lethal roads. Despite being a sunny Sunday and clearly lots of people about, the woodland walks were quiet and I think you Essex and NE London residents are very lucky to have it on your doorstep.
Art History this afternoon, we are looking at forgeries, frauds, thefts and other scandals. Interesting!
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Good morning all, horrible here in Devon this morning, wind & rain. I traveled back from Lancashire yesterday a day early due to forecast of high winds & rain, 280 mile journeyhmm.

Glad I did come home as I now have an infection which requires a GP/Nurse Appointment today, all I've been offered is a telephone call before 12, not sure how that's meant to help as I need a physical examinationconfused.

I had hoped to get all my washing done & everything put away today but this may be a vain hope.

I hate Januarysad
