Good morning from a grey E Kent. We had a tiny drizzle last evening, but being St. Swithin’s day, make one wonder what the next 40 days have to offer. Grey skies?
It sound that you are managing to ease back into almost normal,*Mick*. Keep it up.
Nothing on today. Market with wonderful local butcher and local meat, animals raised and butchered no more than 10 miles away. DS1 wants pork sausages, not easily available in India.
Glad to hear from you Marydoll, keep doing nothing! All good wishes to the others.
Stay safe.

Dry and bright start in Cumbria. Still in bed but will get up soon. A quietish day for me. Perhaps I'll get some housework done! Have a good day everyone if possible.

Scentia Thu 16-Jul-20 06:36:38

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire, a little grey out there today but the sun is looking for his hat behind that cloud!
DD is coming for a sleepover with DGS tonight and then we are having lunch with my DSiS. I will make her a nice Buddha Bowl which is a delight on the eye if nothing else. It is my specialty!
Today more deliveries and jobs on at the factory, extra busy as DH is off camping in the morning. I am busily trying to get in touch with Champneys to rearrange our spa weekend.
I do hope you all have the best day you can, thinking about all our Good Morning Crew who are not having a good time of it. Marydoll hope your cough is easing EV hope you GGD has a good birthday with her Mummy and Nanna if the carer is anything like the people I work with he/she will be delightful. Anyone else who is not quite feeling it today, try to have the best day you can muster. ❤️

Good morning Mick and all his followers. You sound as if you are back to normal Mick. Enjoy your day. I popped into a service station food shop yesterday and realised how long it was since I had been into a shop.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the seaside yesterday although the weather could have tried harder. I got soaked when I took the dog for a quick walk.
Click and collect and ironing for me today. Tomorrow will be a day of cooking, ready for DD & SIL to return.
I hope Gillybob had good news yesterday and love to everyone who is struggling.

Grammaretto Thu 16-Jul-20 06:46:43

Good morning Mick and all who follow, from the Scottish Borders.
Hope your tickets arrive.
Still unsettled weather here. The late afternoons are the best time.
I got stuck into gardening yesterday and the nettle stings are still tingling.
We are going to be away from Wi-Fi for a few days for a weekend at the seaside with my books and my knitting.
Cherrycrezzy asked me to say she is taking a break from posting for a while.
I hope everyone has the best day they can.

Good Morning all from Severnside. It’s dry and there is a bit of blue peeping out from the clouds.

Off to the mail box first thing before I open up and then I think I’ll have a day of pottering as I’ve caught up with most things. I’ll message my SiL to arrange a chat.

Have the best day you can everyone ?

Pantglas2 Thu 16-Jul-20 06:58:42

Morning all from a dry and calm Andalusia where the wind of yesterday seems to have disappeared- bedding change today so hopefully it’ll turn up later!

Off to a friend’s birthday bash this evening so will just pootle around mi Casa today and read what you Grans are up to! That weekend break at the seaside sounds lovely Grammaretto and glad you’ve sorted your trip Mick - love it when a plan comes together!

mancgirl Thu 16-Jul-20 07:08:49

Good morning Mick and all from a dry Manchester. Off to Scotland for a few days this morning. Forecast isn't too bad, so hopefully we can get a few walks in. I don't think any of the distilleries are open, which is Mr M's favourite tour. Yesterday my dil did a surprise tapas lunch for my birthday which is while we are away. She said if we're not going to Spain, she will bring Spain to us. Such a thoughtful girl smile. Hope everyone has a good day. (((hugs))) for those who need one flowersfor those with extra cares and worries.

Good morning Mick and the GM team, from a grey east London.

My partner is returning to the dentist today, one of his fillings fell out. It was only put in three weeks ago at a cost of £200. So we will see what happens today.

Yesterday evening we watched quite an interesting television programme about the British ‘stiff upper lip’, which was presented by Ian Hislop. I have woken up feeling a distinct lack of ‘stiff upper lip’.

Good wishes to all and ? to those who need them.

Brunette10 Thu 16-Jul-20 07:18:23

Good Morning from another bright Fife. If like yesterday it will turn out nice for the day I hope. Had DGS's yesterday for a little while whilst DD had some def needed time to herself. DGS's were very good, they also enjoyed the change of company and routine. Flooring all laid and looking swish. Have to do some shopping today looking like Old Mother Hubbard. Hopefully things are beginning to look up for those with troubles and anxieties, just keep it going. Best wishes to all. Take care.

Urmstongran Thu 16-Jul-20 07:25:10

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s pleasantly warm and the palm trees are still. I’m having my cuppa on the balcony listening to the wood pigeons. Himself is still snoozing - most unusual, he must be tired. Mind you he does a lot of walking and he is 68y - I think age catches up on him now and again!

No beach today. It’s nice to avoid the sun some days I’m sure my skin appreciates it! Did anyone see those photos of Ulrikka Johnson yesterday? They were selfies she took of how her skin had changed over the years by spending so much time in the sun. I was shocked by her appearance to be honest.

Glad to hear your factory orders are coming in thick and fast Scentia. Fingers crossed now for you gillybob.

We are meeting friends for dinner at 9pm. Other than that, no plans. I might give myself a pedicure.

Hope Thursday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. Thinking of you BlueSapphire. x

Sar53 Thu 16-Jul-20 07:29:16

Good morning from a very grey Essex by the sea.
Yesterday we booked a gite in France for a week in September. We are driving down to Carcassonne, taking a couple of days to get there and back.
This morning we are off to the supermarket and this afternoon DH will meet up with a couple of friends for a drink and to put the world to rights.
Have a great day everyone and stay safe xx

Gingster Thu 16-Jul-20 07:30:30

Good morning all. Grey in Essex. I thought we were having a heatwave this week! ?.

Went to my hairdressers yesterday (at her house). Stepped out into her garden, barefooted, and stood on a wasp. ?. She kindly put vinegar on the sting site and it worked like magic. The pain went and I forgot about it til early this morning. I woke up with a swollen foot and it’s very sore. Anyway I had a discussion with her about my hair and we decided to leave the colour and just have a trim up. See how it goes. Maw - thanks, your advice made up my mind. ?

It seems like everyone is off on a well deserved break. grammaretto have a lovely time at the seaside.
mancgirl - enjoy Scotland.
Mick nice to look forward to your break in Harrogate.
Scentia - Champneys! Oooooooo

We have lots of mini birthday celebrations this coming week. DIL ‘s today. We’ll see her for a glass of something this evening. DGD’s 18th tomorrow. Her family are coming to us for a birthday lunch on Saturday. Mine next week (a big one) . A get together with my lovely DB’s . Lots of baking to be done.

Taking little pooch to the vet today, as she limps every evening. She runs and chases her ball all day, no problem, .hope it’s just a sprain. ?.

Have a pleasant day all. ?

kittylester Thu 16-Jul-20 07:32:59

Morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

Our cleaner is coming this morning and seems to break something every time she comes lately.

Out for lunch with DS1 today - we havent seen him for about a month though we message most days obviously.

DD1 and her children came yesterday - it was lovely to see them and enjoy their chatter.

Enjoy your days everyone.

brook2704 Thu 16-Jul-20 07:34:38

Good morning everyone from Inverness where is is dry and cloudy but hopefully the sun will pop out later ?
I had a lovely surprise visit yesterday from DD2 and family. I was pottering about and feeling a bit bored when she messaged to say they were nearby so should they stop and get some pizzas and come for tea. It was lovely to actually have them inside the house for a while and the DGC went running into their bedrooms which they’d not seen for ages. I almost thought they were going to ask for a sleepover but I think that’s maybe planned for next week sometime. I felt really happy after their visit ?
Have a safe journey up to Scotland mancgirl and enjoy your walking. I’ll get a move on and order the right weather for you!
Ouch gingster that sounds painful - I hope your foot is better soon
Wishing all GMorningers the best day possible and take care whatever the day brings ?

NannyJan53 Thu 16-Jul-20 07:36:37

Good Morning from a dull Black Country.

Not posted on here for a couple of months now, so dipping my toes back in!

Life is slowly opening back up, but I am still reticent. So although hairdresser back etc. I am not booking anything yet.

We have a flight booked to Malaga on 27th September Urmston but I cannot see me wanting to go, as I doubt we would get insurance covering Covid? Such a shame as we love Malaga and Benalmadena Peublo.

Only plans I have today is my usual video call to Mum and hope to visit a friend in her garden. Not seen her since February.

Wishing you all a good day

NanKate Thu 16-Jul-20 07:41:57

Morning Mick and All.

Cloud and bright sunshine in South Bucks.

Packing, ironing and sorting for our departure tomorrow to the beautiful New Forest.

Good to hear your life is slowly returning to normal Mick.

Urmstongran Thu 16-Jul-20 07:42:31

Meant to say ‘hi’ to lemongrove who posted yesterday ?
Is that a first?
You didn’t tell us where you live though and the value of your home ...
?

NanKate Thu 16-Jul-20 07:43:27

Welcome back NannyJan good to have you posting again. ?

Mythbirtthedragon Thu 16-Jul-20 07:43:43

Good morning from east London, grey, breezy and mild. Promise of heat later. Foodbank this morning so need to get moving, but no choir today as our leader is having a week off. Found out yesterday all is still OK for our Kent holiday so we’ll be off to the seaside in 2 weeks. Just got to work out the travel logistics; I was looking at trains yesterday in case there’s not enough room in the car as DD and the girls and DS will all be coming, just not sure when. It’s very quick and easy going from Stratford international by train.
Hope you have a good day.

Urmstongran Thu 16-Jul-20 07:47:14

Hi NannyJan53 I’m not sure whether health insurance to cover Covid is even a thing? The premiums would be prohibitive I expect and the big companies won’t want to take a punt.

However I see Sar53 is off to France in September. Perhaps she had the same dilemma yet they are going for it! We all must do what makes us feel comfortable in the end.

I too am not for trains, airports and planes just yet.

Gelisajams Thu 16-Jul-20 07:51:15

Good morning from Shetland where DH reports it’s cold and damp! Not unexpected - we don’t come here for the weather!
Than you for all the good wishes yesterday which I read late last night.
We have been coming here for 20 years where we stay with people who have become friends.
It’s good to see how seriously the virus is being taken here even though there have been no new confirmed cases for weeks. We feel quite safe. It was strange on the boat with all the extras unavailable.
Hopefully will Wrap up and get out for a longish walk shortly. Stay safe and take care?

Puzzler61 Thu 16-Jul-20 08:02:37

Good Morning Mick and All from cloudy Worcs. Met Office promises we will be getting sunshine this afternoon.

Mick when you get the tickets in the post you’ll know you’re definitely getting your mini break! We all need one sooner or later.
Nannytopsy glad you had a nice day yesterday.
Sar53 and Grammaretto - your holiday plans sound great.

Our weekly Sainsbury delivery is due 10 -11 am, DH’s friend is coming for coffee at 11 am. They’ll go into the Conservatory and I’ll let them natter in peace. It will give me an opportunity for some pootering and I’ll be visiting my friend after lunch. I’ll take a punnet of cherries which we bought while on a drive 2 days ago.
We came across a delightful wooden stall on a house drive and as well as cherries we came away with strawberries, potatoes, eggs and rhubarb. ?
We didn’t see a soul, it was all done by “honesty box” payment - very safe from a Covid aspect.

Stay safe everyone today and Gingster, look after your swollen foot. Keep your shoes on today (if you can bear to).
?

gillybob Thu 16-Jul-20 08:04:34

Good morning from the NE coast where we have another grey start to the day . We did see some rain yesterday so think maybe we should just right this summer off . hmm

I spent all day at “that place” again yesterday and had another 2 conference calls with our potential customer who has still not committed to an order . We are tantalisingly close but the questions are becoming more and more technical and in-depth, so I can’t help but worry that we may be being used to tell them (a very big cheese) how to do the job themselves . It happens .
A huge thank you to everyone for all their good wishes and crossed fingers ? I think it’s a waiting game now.

Im so pleased you are getting plenty of work Scentia you must feel a great weight lifted. The figures released today for those who have lost their jobs during lock down is alarming and I am determined that I and my 3 loyal employees will not be joining them any time soon .

Do enjoy your trip to Scotland Mancgirl I shall wave as you pass through the North East ? .

Grammaretto Please pass on my best wishes to CherryCezzy I hope she is okay and will be back with us soon . Thinking of our friend BlueSapphire too .

Welcome back to this lovely Good Morning thread NannyJan53 it’s good to see you again. Sorry you don’t feel ready for your holiday in September .

Oh poor you Gingster I can imagine the pain . A wasp went down my top last year and stung me about 5 times before I managed to get it out . I hope you squashed the horrible little thing.

I hope everyone has as good a Thursday as possible . I’m off to “that place” again to do wages etc. Planning a day off tomorrow as I’m exhausted .

Love Gillybob xx
