Good morning Mick, Annie and all.
I haven't been around for ages and feel as though I have missed so much.
Bless you Annie, for always wishing me, it is very much appreciated.
Mick, have you taken any notice of all the 'nagging' about you seeing a Dr? Please do and put our minds at rest.
We have had a few busy days, and time has flown by.
Last week the plumber came to measure up for new radiators, and asked us to source the Anthracite ones, plus valves. So that we got exactly what we wanted. He is supplying all the new white ones for upstairs.
Our GD came to visit on Sunday. We had to miss her wedding, due to the restriction on numbers, but bless her heart, she made up for it with lots of chat and the most beautiful hug.

Then the boiler was serviced on Monday. New radiators also ordered, and were delivered yesterday! What service. We were still in bed with cups of tea, and I heard a big vehicle huffing and puffing, so we had to rush and open the door. They are now in the porch, awaiting the plumber to fit them, and all the things that were in the porch, are now randomly scattered around the lounge.
Ordered a case of wine to treat ourselves, and it has just come ?
My friend is coming this afternoon for a catch up, while DH goes to look for some hair for the barber to cut.

Still thinking of our Gilly, and hope she is OK. Best wishes to all who are poorly or down in the dumps.

Now I will go and catch up on all I have missed on GN.

Good morning Mick - I am saying nothing, I don’t nag! ?
Hello to everyone else from a bright and breezy Suffolk where we were very late getting up.
We had trees felled and pruned in the Spring and have gradually moved the resulting log pile to our daughter in Kent, to feed her log burner. This weekend should see us move the last of it. Today’s job is to bring it from the garden and pack it in big blue IKEA bags in the car. Sadly my knee is playing up instead of improving I am on RICE - rest, ice, compression and elevation. Plus paracetamol and ibuprofen. DH will have to do the logs ?.
I hope you are all improving and/or keeping well.

Good morning all. Slightly dreich is how I would describe Glasgow this morning which is better than very dreich.

Long FaceTime catch up with DD2 in Australia. She avidly keeps up with what is going on here. Normally a laid back girl but is like a worry wart at the moment reminding us how to take care of ourselves. We did discuss everything else under the sun.

The day ahead will be bits of this and bits of that which will include finishing a couple of projects instead of my newly acquired attitude of, I’ll get around to it. ?

Good morning from Devon, mixed bag of weather, started sunny, heavy rain shower, now the sun is battling with the clouds.

My morning started well, early up, early breakfast, day planned out.

Half way through my bowl of porridge my mobile rang, Mum's neighbour, Carers aren't doing much, Mum's mental state appears to be deteriorating (I live 300 miles away & can't travel due to Mum being in Tier 3). Back to phone calls, GP & Social Services to raise a safeguarding issue.

Hopefully this afternoon I can get in the kitchen & make a Spag Bol, Chili, Bombay Potatoes & Cauliflower Cheese, I might even make a cake to cheer myself up.

I had also planned to sort out my Sideboard ready to move so I can finish decorating, oh well the best laid plans

Thank you again for your good wishes yesterday. I had a lovely day with so many lovely presents so today I'm going to write thank you letters.

My son and his family Facetimed us last night from Portugal to sing Happy birthday as I blew out the candles on my (surprise) cake. 5 year old asked me how old I was - he thought I was 24 - that must be old to him. I counted in 10s until I got to 60 and said and six more - that's 66. He just laughed and said you are so funny Granny. I think he thinks I'm making up words now.

Apparently the 3 year old may have offended or amused the very old female neighbour of his other granny. He told her he liked her little beard . That cheered me up but also made me check my own chin!

That might have been why I dreamed about him living with me in Las Vegas, although I don't know why the school secretary and her cat lived with us too.

Glad to hear Urms eye is on the mend, even without the gold ring treatment. Ooh I wonder if that's where they got the idea for golden eye ointment from? My mum was right after all ?. Another one here who thinks Mick should get checked out. Unexplained weight loss is not good. Marydoll I hope the pain in your hips is bearable today. You have adventures every time you go out. I love reading about them.

Good Morning all from Grey and hopefully dry Harrogate. At the risk of nagging (which we can all be guilty of, but it shows we care) See your Doc!! I saw mine in person on Monday, but that was after filling in an on-line form then a telephone call. Persevere!!
Today I await my order from Morrisons - hope they do better than last week when I just got half my order.
DH is out just now - he's taken the dog for a walk in the car (that doesn't make sense!). It's so quiet. He's probably taken her to The Stray (large grassy area) she, the dog, won't want to come back!!

DH planning to redesign cupboards in kitchen, will wait with baited breathe!

Hoping for a stretch of the legs before school pickup too now weather has improved.

Very late start after a disturbed night. By the time I roused myself and showered it was 9.30 and then DH had to be got up, bathed, shaved and dressed. Feels like a morning’s work before so much as a cup of tea! However, nothing on the calendar for today so chance to finish book for U3A zoom discussion next week. We are reading “The Boy with the Topknot”, an entertaining and illuminating light on growing up as a Sikh in Wolverhampton. Well worth the effort, especially as the author (Sathnam Sanghera) writes well.

Partner out on a bike ride, I am making a Cottage Pie, then I suppose some housework! Then a walk into town later.

I've done my weekly shop this morning, so later posting than usual. I asked my DD if she wanted anything getting, expecting a long list, all she came up with was a load of bread! They have a delivery booked for Saturday apparently. SIL has had his covid test, just waiting for the results now.

I haven't read the posts yet, so will get a coffee and sit down for a nice read.

A lovely sunny day in tier three South Yorkshire this morning. I am late because I put the iPad on charge last night and forgot to put the switch down! Some gardening for us today, then I will go three rounds, two submissions and a knockout with the new computer. No guessing who will win!??! Have the best day you can folks.

Morning all from a fairly bright South Notts where the sun is shining nicely after yesterdays heavy rain. I hope to venture out shortly.
This week has been busy for me - Monday I had to wait in for the annual boiler service, Tuesday I travelled by bus (first time since Covid) to the hospital to supply a blood sample (which I hope will be the last - five years in remission) and yesterday a hairdressing appointment. The calendar is almost empty for the rest of the year except for Christmas and none of us know what will happen then.
Look after yourselves everyone, especially those with sorrow or worries.

It’ll be a telephone consultation. A fat lot of good when I am having problems with my ears. I can only hear out of my R ear if I wear my aids and have a finger sticking in it! Hilarious, I know, but the low grade chronic pain is starting to get to me…

Good morning All from another quiet day in Polmont. The weather is calm, dry and cloudy. I've dropped dgs off at his granddad's house and the day is stretching out ahead of me. I'm going to potter and sew, I think. Yesterday was mad! I had arranged to meet my best friend for a coffee at a local garden centre. When we arrived, there were at least 15 people in the cafe we knew! Some were old colleagues of mine who are still on holiday, others were joint pals. A social distance catch up followed. As we sat down, we noticed someone gesticulating at the next table (behind a plastic screen). It was my aunt, uncle, brother and mum! So funny. Then a WhatsApp chat in the afternoon with friends. So today I won't be socialising with anyone and that's okay. I'm off to make a cuppa now. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a wet, wet, wet north of Scotland. I haven’t gone for a walk this morning as I can tell that the paths will be flooded. There were mini lochs at certain points yesterday and today I’d need a boat. The area is heaving with holiday makers and all the cafes and hotels have put up marquees, awnings and gazebos in outside spaces I hadn’t even noticed before. It looked very festive. Hospitality certainly isn’t suffering in this area at the moment and it looks as if they may be making up for the lockdown losses. I am off to have a virtual morning coffee with a long-standing friend this morning. We arrange a time to phone, chat and have our coffee together as we currently cannot meet up. Best wishes to all especially if you are poorly or looks after someone who is.

Haven't a clue what it's like out because it's so dark, but I can't hear rain and the cats were dry when they came back in after their breakfasts.

Tried phoning the heating engineer yesterday but no answer so I emailed the housing association, no reply, then finally emailed the heating company, again no reply.
Getting any sort of appointment is like knitting fog ! Shocking. I gave up and switched the electric fire on for an hour last night.

During the course of the afternoon I rang my D and the perishing phone went awry with crackling, background noise and the volume went up on the phone and frightened me to death so I shouted an expletive and the noise stopped ? However in the middle of a conversation it started up again so the obvious repairs/renewal of cable is still continuing from months ago----not good enough.

These really are trying times and my patience is running out. I'm getting paranoid thinking that someone is sticking pins in me. I suppose I'm being selfish thinking that it's only me with problems when there are others far worse off. It just seems to be a never ending run of problems and this year is one that I'd willingly forget in more ways than one.

Anyway it'll be a day of phoning ( if the darn thing works ) and emailing as well as reflecting on whether this virus is becoming an excuse for everyone to do nothing.

Mick I'd get a GP appointment if I were you, your body's telling you that there's something amiss and needs to be sorted.

Curtains open now and it's dull but dry so far. Blimey I feel worn out before I start----mental exhaustion busy thinking about getting things sorted while there are some who are still working. At least the weather's on my side if nothing else, not really cold without heating as yet.

One thing for sure, I'm never bored with my life always something that needs sorting to keep me on the ball whether it be the family or things domestic.

After this all being about myself, I'm hoping everyone else is alright and managing through their " tiers " that have been thrust upon us. Gilly, it must be hard-going for you right now, so thoughts to you x Also others who are finding life a struggle x

It’s a lovely morning here in South Yorkshire, but on the chilly side.

mick I suppose you might be getting a bit fed up of the general advice being given to you, but it is for the best. However as Beechnut said, only you will know when you feel it’s the time to do it, but I hope you don’t leave it too long ?.

I’ve got my Pilates class in half an hour. These Thursdays seem to come round very quickly.

Nothing much planned for today. DH has gone off to play golf and I will start a new painting. Slowly getting to grips with the watercolour techniques; have discovered there’s always one part of the painting that becomes problematic causing a few howls of anguish or tears of rage; I love it really and it keeps me out of mischief - well, occasionally ?

Good morning all on what looks like a much better day than yesterday.
As others have said elsewhere, the Autumn colours are wonderful .
Hope the gardeners come today , the grass hasn’t been cut for 3 weeks because it was too wet and they have been promising for several weeks to trim back the laurel hedge which actually belongs to my neighbours but as well as being far too tall is spreading over to the house depriving the bit underneath of both water and light.
Architecture class this afternoon, we’re looking at The Red House and William Morris. I love the Arts and Crafts movement so am really looking forward to it.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is still fine. We had the most beautiful Autumn sunshine yesterday but spent half of it at the hospital for DH's "little" procedure.
He's still sleeping this morning so I guess that is a good sign.

At ours there was plenty of distancing, sanitiser, masks and gloves but the best part were the truly lovely staff. A young girl nurse wheeled DH to the front of the hospital and waited while I had got the car from the multistory and drove round to pick him up..

How interesting Dragonfly to be on a mission to photograph the stones in the abbey. I like being asked to do something useful like that. It's usually gravestones for me as I help people in NZ with their genealogy.

At least Gingster you won't need to have your DNA tested to prove parentage if your parents look back at you from the mirror.

I'm glad you are feeling a bit better today Mick and Urmston R&R are often the best cure with a dash of paracetamol and ibuprofen thrown in.
