Frogmore Cottage

Seems that Princess Eugenie and her husband have moved into Frogmore Cottage, apparently at the invitation of the Sussexes.

If they, H&M and Archie, pop back to GB, they will share the place.

Good to think it will be in use by a family, when Eugenie’s baby arrives.

Is this Corruption?

There is plenty of evidence that the royals deliberately and routinely abuse their positions for personal gain.

They spend taxpayers’ money like it’s going out of fashion, on private travel, palatial homes, round- the-clock security and personal staff. Their misuse of public funds is a bigger scandal than the £345m annual bill

We do know that secret deals have been done between the palace and the government, to allow them to avoid as much tax as they can. The Duchy of Cornwall, a large business enterprise run by Prince Charles, refuses to pay its taxes, despite MPs saying they should.

The royals have extensive access to public money, government ministers and every opportunity to interfere – all covered up by Freedom of Information laws and Royal Archive secrecy.

It’s highly likely that the secrecy is there for one good reason: if we could also see what the royals were up to we wouldn’t like what we see. Is the monarchy corrupt? How can we say it isn’t?

Wasting your time Grany dontcha know they have a divine right ....to help themselves to taxpayers money and expect to be treated like gods. Its a medieval concept but people on this site seem to be stuck in the middle ages ..or they want Empire medals . haven't worked out which it is ,yet

GagaJo Sun 22-Nov-20 17:26:02

NotSpaghetti

My family did this when one daughter moved abroad with her family... her sibling moved in, paid all the bills, mortgage etc (had to clear this with the lender) and it worked out fine.

Expect this is the same arrangement - if somewhat more £££

Yeah, sure they're paying the bills. Every penny.

Now, where is that eye roll emoji again?

Poor Eugenie, if she does have to put H and M up in her spare room on one of their flying visits to the UK, but I doubt they will be very frequent. She will be able to nip over regularly though and visit her grandmother and that will show H and M up for the hypocrites they are, as neither side see their child.

Anniebach Sun 22-Nov-20 17:28:43

What should have been done with Frogmore?

merlotgran Sun 22-Nov-20 17:45:32

Presumably Eugenie and Jack will take over the rent that H&M were allegedly paying to keep it as their UK residence.

Alegrias2 Sun 22-Nov-20 19:09:43

Anniebach

What should have been done with Frogmore?

I'll take the bait Anniebach smile Here's some ideas.

Conference centre; hotel; holiday flat accommodation; hospice; respite care for children with terminal diseases; temporary accommodation for refugees; housing for the estate workers (which is what it used to be); office accommodation; opened to the public like Frogmore house.

I'm sure there's more, but we could start with this.

Anniebach Sun 22-Nov-20 20:21:18

Alegrias2 my question was not a bait ,

It is close to Windsor Castle, what of any danger to the Queen?

People coming and going at any time, she couldn’t even take a
walk in the grounds.

Alegrias2 Sun 22-Nov-20 20:43:26

It was just a joke Annie, I noticed you'd asked the question twice.

I also notice there is a golf course between Frogmore Cottage and WIndsor Castle. If they can cope with golfers I'm sure they can cope with conference goers.

Anniebach Sun 22-Nov-20 20:58:12

Then I apologise Alegrias. Wonder who the members of the
golf club are, staff perhaps , Andrew is / was a keen golfer .

I really don’t think the public would be allowed to wonder around

Alegrias2 Sun 22-Nov-20 21:13:07

thanks Anniebach

GagaJo Sun 22-Nov-20 21:30:36

I'd be more worried about a regal sex pest than many members of the general public.

annsixty Sun 22-Nov-20 22:02:12

Unless we own the property and as taxpayers are paying for its upkeep plus security, I don’t think it is any of our business who lives there.
Oh just a minute, what about security.
I suppose we were paying that where ever they lived.

Anniebach Sun 22-Nov-20 22:15:45

There would already be security , and Charles stopped the two
sisters from having personal protection.

GagaJo Sun 22-Nov-20 23:00:55

One rule... Or not. No favouritism at all.

Calendargirl Mon 23-Nov-20 07:46:50

It must have been simpler when they all lived at KP. Surely it would have been like a fortress, security all round, but many of the RF in their own apartments or ‘cottages’?, so much easier to keep safe.

Ellianne Mon 14-Dec-20 10:26:01

Following on from Calendargirl. Anyone know why Eugenie and husband have left Frogmore after a couple of months and gone back to KP to live?
Is Frogmore haunted? Whose ghost is it?

Anniebach Mon 14-Dec-20 10:38:55

For a young couple Kensington Palace surely, not isolated in
Frogmore.

Ellianne Mon 14-Dec-20 10:40:16

But weren't they nearer to grandma Fergie and husband in Frogmore?

merlotgran Mon 14-Dec-20 10:42:55

Maybe that's why they've gone back to London.

NotTooOld Mon 14-Dec-20 10:46:26

Just what I was thinking Ellianne, there is a ghost!

Anniebach Mon 14-Dec-20 10:49:21

They have cousins and friends in London, and Beatrice lives there .

merlotgran Mon 14-Dec-20 10:55:35

I wonder why they moved to Frogmore in the first place.....If they really did.

Curlywhirly Mon 14-Dec-20 10:55:45

Is the move permanent? Maybe they have just moved out for the Christmas period. It does seem strange if it is permanent, they have hardly given it a chance.

Grannynannywanny Mon 14-Dec-20 10:56:25

My guess would be it was only a temporary stay at Frogmore while their palace accommodation underwent a makeover before the baby arrives.
