Good Morning All x.
I'm getting quite used to this sunshine every day, even though the temperature doesn't budge up very much. Washing was lovely and dry as was the large candlewick which I'd just thrown over the whirligig----too big and thick to peg.

One of those days ! The best laid plans and all that smile I'd decided to get to the corner shop early to get a store of fresh crumpets so I gingerly opened the front door and Bertie cat followed me out. When I open the front door it seems to set off an alarm to the front door of the house next door and out she comes grin Nearly 2 hours later and after another neighbour had joined in the conversation, I finally got to the shop and was lucky at least to find just one pkt of crumpets left.

I'm not anti-social or anything but----------when one has worked out their breakfast for a week and it's all but gone when you get there one tends to feel a bit miffed that I've missed out grin Never mind worse things happen at sea. This is what lockdowns have done to me ! Shocking really.

Awaiting a parcel today, another shredder. It'll be the 4th one I've had over the years as I seem to burn them out. Good job they're not overly expensive. Still, I do need one.

Good to see Urmston back from her break. I understand the anxiety x.

More lovely pics which I really enjoy. The pony one is just lovely. Also pics of Torquay brings back happy memories of holidaying there. I have literally hundreds of photographs of holidays everywhere in the hope that my GGC will one day appreciate looking at though the way things are going they'll be as ancient as the Pyramids.

Mick, those irregular heartbeats are a pain, but I can assure you that you do get used to them over time and they shouldn't interfere with your daily life too much.

Hope everyone else's troubles/ problems are small ones so take care on your travels and remain safe.xx

Greyduster Fri 16-Apr-21 11:27:19

Welcome Dogsmakemesmile! Sorry to hear you're hobbling. No fun. Hope it improves soon.

Welcome Madeleine45 and Dogsmakemesmile I am fairly new too . Lots of people seem to know each other well. My daughter's father in law is in the Yellow Book . I am not a gardener but I know he works really hard on the days of open gardens. My GDs help with teas !
It is very easy to spend a lot of time reading threads and posts but I haven't really posted much. Prefer to read !

Nannagarra Fri 16-Apr-21 11:12:13

Good morning from sunny Sefton. Have a good day. x

CherryCezzy Fri 16-Apr-21 11:06:41

Good morning everyone from the Gower. Blue sky, nothing but blue sky ? here.

My neighbour was by and large quiet last night ?. She did set me on edge for a brief time when I heard that Woody Woodpecker laugh again, I thought here we go again, but she only did it twice and was quiet thereafter. Phew!
Fortunately daddy has the girls and has done for a while now (mops brow). One of the girls did visit one day last week but not to spend time with mummy, she played with her friends and then went back to daddy's ?.
I, along with my WP, seem to be the only one/s trying to get her the help she needs which is frustrating beyond belief. I worry about interfering but unless she receives more support she won't ever be well and those beautiful girls are the fall out of that! Grr ?. Banging and head are the appropriate words where trying to help is concerned though! Only one person, one on-duty psychiatrist has tried to do something. I called the out of hours and gave him some pertinent information and he couldn't thank me enough. He came to visit but she wouldn't open the door. He had no choice but to leave since he can't can't force his way in without the police. The police can't do that without direct observation. Help for people in mental health crisis hmm.
Rock and hard place are other words that spring to mind. Could we move? Yes it's possible. We both love our little home though and have worked hard to get it the way we want it. In addition, we'd have to make it clear that the neighbour the other side of the wall has serious issues. Hardly ideal is it ?

It's such a lovely day I ought to continue where I left off before I ended up in bed for a week and tackle more of the ivy in the garden. I have my daily group quiz shortly too and enjoy that as much for the banter and chat as for the quiz ?. A bit of sanity in the day ?.

It's wonderful to hear that so many of you peoples are getting out and about seeing family and friends and visiting garden centres and even outdoor cafes! ?

Good to see you posting Urmstongran ?

Thank you Susan, brook, Dustyangel, Gwenisgreat, EllanVannin, Nannagarra, hulahoop, and LauraNorder for your welcome backs yesterday and your concern for me ?
Thank you Susan, Ashcombe, Dwmxwg, Beauregard*, dragonfly, grandmajet, Jaxjacky, Pantglas, hollysteers, GrannyGravy, Gelisajams and Taichinan (and anyone I've missed whilst typing) for expressing your care and concern for me today ?.
All of you are wonderful people ?

grandmajet ????????? for you.

Make the most of today everyone and be kind to yourselves ❤️

GrannyGravy13 Fri 16-Apr-21 11:00:37

Just popped back to let you know DS is out of surgery and messaging us on Family WhatsApp. He is not making much sense due to post anaesthetic brain fog ???

Mapleleaf Fri 16-Apr-21 10:38:44

Forgot to say, nice to see you posting again, Urmstongran and you too, cherry.
Welcome, madeleine45. Not heard of the yellow book scheme before, sounds interesting.

muse Fri 16-Apr-21 10:38:44

You'll love the gorgeous Magnolia stellata grandMattie. This was mine this year. I've had it two years and keep it in a big pot. It will go into the ground when I start planning the new garden.

Grandmafrench Fri 16-Apr-21 10:37:15

Good Morning everyone from the land of sunny and blue.

Woah! Too much news, interest, excitement and info, as well as warm wishes to deal with it all. I’ve had a speed read of this thread and it’s making my head spin.....so will just say how wonderful that outside stuff is giving you more hope, travelling to those you love and naughty garden centre jaunts as well. Makes me really happy.

Great to hear from you, Urms please don’t be scared until all is revealed. You’ll just make yourself ill and sad and run down - and in a week’s time you’ll probably be sitting in the sunshine, waving a glass and feeling that life can’t get a lot better.?

Matilda and Stanley - the new dream team, Susan

Cherry I was appalled to learn how you suffer at the hands of your neighbour! And no, I don’t care that she’s got mental health problems - not when your peace and health - and life- is put at risk in that way. The various Agencies who are or should be involved need incessant pressure to stop the damage to infant children, her neighbours and you! (Sounds like a job for GranForce ! ). Please take care, hope you feel stronger. x

Well done grandmajet.

All those missing, come back to us please. Welcome to madeleine the gardening queen! Stay safe, stay strong everyone. ????‍♀️?

Hugs to all x

muse Fri 16-Apr-21 10:35:18

Just flicked through to see whose posted. So many and I'm so pleased to see one from Urm. smile I'll read them all after this quickie.

Cornish weather looked OK outside from inside the cottage but it's still a bit chilly. A few fluffy clouds?. Sat drinking my Earl Grey.

I have three plants to put on the rockery today. Two could quite easily be divided many times.

Started making a list of what to buy at the nursery I'm off to in a week's time. The other end of Cornwall. They have a 30 acre garden.

Trip to the household dump sometime today.

We've planned for lovely daughter and granddaughter to visit in June but now must tell her not to come 11-13 Jun. G7 submit meeting here. Listening to the local news last night there will be some disruption. hmm hmm

Have a joyful and trouble free Friday Mick and everyone.

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 16-Apr-21 10:24:35

Good Morning all from sunny Harrogate.
Mick you'll have to take more care of that old ticker, it's the only one you've got!
Welcome Madeleine45 hope you will enjoy our chitchat!
Marydoll the banking episode could only happen to you!! Hope you are sorted now.
Glad to see you back Urms
Seriously Cherry maybe you should talk to social services about your neighbour, especially if she has children! She is making you ill!!! Good Luck!!
Hope you can make the best of this sunny day folks, see you tomorrow!!

Dogsmakemesmile Fri 16-Apr-21 10:21:05

Hello everyone,
My first post on this thread. Yesterday I was given helpful advice re my (just) fractured ankle on Chat. Lovely to know people out there and lovely to join in here. No real plans for me though dressed for first time and got downstairs and made my own breakfast. Really grateful I could do that. It's a beautiful day here. Will get Woman's Hour on and maybe phone local bookshop for a book delivery. Take care. X

Mapleleaf Fri 16-Apr-21 10:17:37

Good morning all,

Another glorious morning with blue sky and sunshine. There's a bit of cloud build up, so it seems to be following the pattern of the last few days.

Having some electrical work done in the garage this morning, so I'm keeping the electrician going with coffee as it can get a bit chilly in there. Will be so much better to have better lighting and the switch beside the door rather than in the middle of the wall. (When the kitchen was altered and the door to the garage moved by the previous owners, the light switch wasn't, so for years we've put up with it being in the wrong place, so at long last, it's being sorted, along with extra sockets ?).

Hope you all have a good Friday. Take care.

Jaxjacky Fri 16-Apr-21 10:16:27

Ekwa hope your move has gone well ?

Good morning Mick and all gn friends from bright and sunny Anglesey.
Lovely to see you back Urms, sorry you’re suffering a bit, hopefully things will get better when the sun is warmer and the restrictions ease a bit further. Get that neck sorted and you’ll feel tons better.
Genius Taichinan, wonder what the call charge would have been if you’d called an engineer.
Wonderful uplifting photos of blue skies, countryside and seaside. Child and pony particularly lovely.
That moment of a child running with open arms to Grandpa brought a tear to my eye Ash.
Glad you liked your new consultant Grandmajet. Shame you have to wait now that you are psyched up for the op but May will come soon enough.
Hope you had a good night Auntyflo and you too Cherry.
Gosh so many of you bravely getting on with life and looking for that random flamingo and a bit of sunshine. Hope you find it.
Wishing you all a very good day ??cupcake

Good morning all from a beautiful bright Lancashire. The birds are singing outside the window and life feels good. I had to get up early to accept a delivery so I’m washed and dressed. Mr.B has just fetched the morning tea so I shall read your news while waiting for my porridge to cool down. It feels hot already so I think today will be a belter sunshine

Enjoy your Friday folks.
