it turns out that the publicity shy couple were so keen on privacy that they didnt even want the £38 million wedding we were forced into paying for them, blimey, they could have said something earlier, like before the public coughed up a fortune for security, A list celeb guests and more melodrama than an x factor sob story, they are now claiming they wanted none of that because " it didnt feel like their day ", but they went through it anyway, bless em. They told Oprah that they actually had a private exchange of vows three days before, just the two of them were present as well as the archbishop of canterbury - perfectly normal behaviour, , now that they have aired all their laundry in public to the whole world, they are off to work on that private life they claim to crave, At least until the next big interview comes up

what do your contributions add might I enquire?
Nice one suziewoozie ..... enough for one poster on a GN thread to ask me a bit more about my knowledge of royalty..... or did you miss that thread?

lemongrove Mon 03-May-21 12:53:05

There is gossip, speculation, meanness and much else about both famous names and other posters on the politics threads too suzie but you join in with your comments on them, so why is this thread different for you? Why do you and a few others root so strongly for H and M as if they are a pair of saints?

It was me. Mea culpa. I told Lucca about this thread on another thread.
Once again I was 'having a laugh'.
I'll behave myself now and leave you to get on with it.

Yes just get off this thread, now ????

Ellianne Mon 03-May-21 12:53:33

PS it was only yesterday, I believe and that very poster seemed interested.

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 03-May-21 12:53:36

BTW the ‘trending on GN’ list is just the most recent threads to have a new post.

It changes all day.

Because they are portrayed by their detractors as devils maybe?

I am going out in a minute but just for the hundredth time, I do not root for harry and or Meghan.

I’ve explained myself before. I have found the endless repetitive threads weird and so catty but I know I’ll be told I’m wrong so that’s fine.

That's why it was funny.

Or maybe not. ?

(I'm back, sorry)

It was me, yet again!
Yes, I enjoy reading about the Royal family and all of their shenanigans.
I am particularly enamoured with the pre- WW2 period.
I've recently been reading a fair bit about Wallis Simpson.

Namsnanny Mon 03-May-21 13:00:51

I think we should have a wooden spoon award, for fun you understand!grin

Any guesses who would win today?

Anniebach Mon 03-May-21 13:04:30

So wrong to criticise Meg and Harry but acceptable to mock
posters, Whitewave one of the first on this thread to mock
me.

Why don’t critics of this thread keep mocking Carrie what’s her name.

Yet another effort to get this thread closed as they have with previous threads

Lollin Mon 03-May-21 13:06:46

It’s very sad really, because some people cannot get over the decision made by two people.

This, exactly this.
It isn’t about seeing m and h as ‘saints’ ??. It’s a response to the seemingly endless unpleasant, nasty gossipy speculation.

JaneJudge Mon 03-May-21 13:09:04

Even flow, they arrive like butterflies

lemongrove Mon 03-May-21 13:12:09

Oh they mock Carrie what’s her name Annie even though they don’t know anything about her, but weirdly Harry and Meghan can do no wrong! Even though they ‘aren’t interested and find these threads boring’ ( so they say.)
I think it’s a love of arguing allied with something else, as I say, I have my own theory on that.

Oh no ???? This looks suspiciously like a TAAT . If you've anything to say about CA and the comments made about her, please for so on the relevant thread . TIA

lemongrove Mon 03-May-21 13:19:05

Iam64 I can’t agree with you at all, as many posters enjoy gossip and speculation ( nasty and otherwise) about any other well known names out there.Even wives of politicians! I have read some really nasty stuff on here over the years.
Most posters are annoyed with H and M, not for going off and living a quiet life away from the spotlight, but for trashing the RF and going on to jostle back into the spotlight, in fact they need the spotlight and appear to not be able to live without it.
This is the nub of the matter.

Anniebach Mon 03-May-21 13:19:53

Yes lemon as usual , Carrie what’s her name is ripe for mocking but Harry and Meg are sacred Cows.

lemongrove Mon 03-May-21 13:20:39

Are you auditioning for Line of Duty suziew ? You missed out a CHIS.

It’s tradition innit. Bank holidays are always celebrated with Morris dancers and an H&M thread.

Iam64 Mon 03-May-21 13:28:07

lemon grove, there are some things we will never agree on, H and M being one of them. I’m off to do something relaxing. It’s pouring with rain, cold and windy here. Dog walk wet and muddy, both dogs showered and almost dry so the kitchen has that happy wet dog aroma - this too will pass. Enjoy the bank holiday everyone - as an aside, I rather enjoyed Harry’s celeb appearance at the vax rally ???
