Good Morning Everyone,
Its grey here in Brackley , this morning with some overnight rain and I never heard any thunderstorms locally.
To continue , thanks to Marydoll and Muse for there help in trying to fix my problem with MawBe who also copied and pasted for me as I was able to send her PM`s ,which worked .
But problem solved , back to normal .
Today , Usual bus trip to Bicester , have a coffee and snack and return home an hour later , some of the bus routes locally are still not offering a full timetable , I will then return and watch French and spanish national championships on TV that is Cycling as Tour De France starts next week .
Take Care,
Mick

Let me know if you need the recipe, DH and I tried one each, the rest have gone in the freezer. Perhaps a tiny fraction more eggy than usual ones, but with gravy on I doubt anyone would notice. Now to tackle a gluten and dairy free gooseberry crumble! ?

Grandmabatty Thu 17-Jun-21 14:45:57

Those Yorkshire puddings look amazing B9.

Nannytopsy Thu 17-Jun-21 14:42:10

Brilliant B9 - my vegan attempt for DiL were awful!

Marydoll Thu 17-Jun-21 14:38:01

amselerin, the first time I ever travelled abroad, was on a school exchange visit to Fürth in Bavaria. Coming from cold Glasgow, the heat was an enormous shock to my system. I hadn't realised Germany would be so hot! I spent the majority of the time in the family's swimming pool!

B9exchange Thu 17-Jun-21 14:03:25

I think my trial gluten and dairy free Yorkshire puddings might have worked! ?

amselerin Thu 17-Jun-21 13:47:06

good morning or afternoon all, from sweltering Lueneburg. 34 ° in the shade. It suits me fine as long as I am not doing any work. The gardener came at 8 am and now I am really happy. It all got too much for me. The dog is in the bedroom again. I haven`t read your mails will look forward to that this evening.
Have a good day all - I am going to eat some Rhubarb and lots of ice cream now.

Marydoll Thu 17-Jun-21 13:12:16

dustyangel you are so kind. I may take you up on your offer, but Mr MD will certainly not be accompanying me!!! He may not live that long and if I don't post tomorrow, you will know I am in the clink! wink

dustyangel Thu 17-Jun-21 12:59:42

Marydoll I could offer you a whole house! We’re in the fortunate position of having the old house which is the original cottage and the new house, built on the footprint of some outbuildings. Neither of them are big but have both got two bedrooms so you could always banish Mr.Marydoll to the twin bedded one.
We rented it out for a few years to help with the upkeep but now just have it for family and friends.

Blossoming wishing you well with the procedure. From experience I agree the prep is the worst.I found the actual colonoscopy to be pain free and hope for the same for you?

dustyangel Thu 17-Jun-21 12:31:34

Morning all (just about) from a much cooler soggy Algarve. Temperature is down to a damp 19°C.

Grandmabatty that peony reminds me of the first one I ever saw in my parents garden. For some reason my father called me over to look at it and it’s beautiful deep colour has stuck in my mind ever since.

Grandmafrench I’m sure you won’t read this until you return from what I hope is a long and leisurely lunch but I still remember our first proper restaurant lunch in France.
We’d made very good time driving down to visit friends and realised that it would be lunchtime when we arrived rather than the afternoon as we had said, so decided to stop at a cafe that a lot of lorries were parked outside. I still don’t know why they insisted that our rather hot and grubby selves should eat in the restaurant rather than the cafe area the drivers were but they they did and then proceeded to serve us five courses of the most delicious food imaginable. The lorry drivers were getting exactly the same menu at the same time.
When we eventually arrived at our good friends house, after welcoming us in they said, “ We knew you’d be starving so we are having a proper French meal with five courses”.
Somehow we managed to eat it.

Thank you JaxJacky yes, it was only supposed to ne two families, but DD obviously wanted to see them after all this time, and assumed that she and her family were invited. Then there is six week old Olive, who has a knack of sensing food and at that moment deciding her needs come first!

Blossoming Thu 17-Jun-21 12:13:30

Thank you for all the good wishes, the colonoscopy is on Saturday, it’s the prep day tomorrow and I found that the worst part of the procedure! When I had it 3 years ago I was very ill and severely anaemic, with a huge malignant tumour in my sigmoid colon. This time I have no tumour, anaemia or stomach pains, and my fellow survivors in a support forum have assured me it will be much easier this time. I’m just looking forward to Sunday, when it will be over.

Jaxjacky Thu 17-Jun-21 12:01:27

B9 roast beef for 12 plus various requirements, gosh you’re brave! Can someone else bring puddings, or maybe buy frozen? best of luck.

EkwaNimitee Thu 17-Jun-21 11:11:21

Good morning, Mick and All from a warm and sunny Carlisle. What a gloomy day yesterday, with rain all afternoon and evening. Saves having to water the lawns though. I'm hoping to mow after lunch when I've recuperated from doing the ironing, vacuuming and reorganising my cardboard boxes--3 more emptied. I'm trying to give them away, so far with no success so I expect they will soon go for recycling.
Have a good day everyone.

muse Thu 17-Jun-21 11:11:07

The sun's out Ali. Your order has been accepted. Take care. I've been reading about your progress. Excellent. I still have my grippers I needed for putting on my knickers and socks.

Grandmafrench. Joys a plenty. What an excellent lunch it will be. Tell us more when you get back.

Scentia. Wouldn't that be great. There is mine in our address ?The abyss is about to become 5x that size. Two huge treatment plant tanks will fill it. Drainage inspection (building control) has just been booked for tomorrow.
Please do the Sewing Bee Scientia. I'm a huge fan. It's made me put my machine into full time action. Three lots of material arrived on Monday. I follow the facebook page. Do you? Excellent people there too. One lady has sent me a pattern I was searching for and wouldn't take any money for it. So much kindness out there.

Dwmxwg Congratulations on your 21st WA ?

Ashcombe Sad to read of the long postponement.

Gingster. I'd love to bump into him. He comes across as a very genuine young man and such a talent.

2nd mug has just been downed by the workmen. Three days and a massive amount of work done. It's been 18 months since we did any work on our new home. Found this company on mybuilder.com. MrM is suitable impressed with Phil and his young helper. I asked if there was anything in particular he liked. MrM is very particular and (to his credit) a perfectionist. His reply was "No bullsh......!". ?

Pittcity. I don't know how the workmen cope too. Ours have a little shade from the trees.

Grandmafrench. Have a good, optimistic day everyone - doing at least one thing you want to do and letting smiles commence..... My one thing I wanted to do has now been done - a long catch up on Mick's morning thread. My smile is growing as is my optimism. I hope Urm is enjoying herself. Miss her posts but I expect she is reading ours. Missing other absent ones too. Anxious for news of Panache and MrP.

Mya is being shown another kennel today. Wonder which one she will choose. The kennel lady yesterday said she was a darling. Not my word for her when she digs yet another hole by the wall. It's now collapsed.

Just seen the dumper go past the window. Off to check progress.

As Grandmafrench said . Let the smiles commence.

Grandmabatty Thu 17-Jun-21 11:01:34

Gwenisgreat it's acrylic. I am hopeless at anything more delicate!

B9exchange Thu 17-Jun-21 10:49:29

Thank you for the sympathy GMJean*, I have been told they want roast beef and the veggie will just have vegetables, but roast beef for 12 is a hassle in itself, and now I have to find out how to make gluten and dairy free Yorkshire puddings, I believe it is possible, might have a trial run today! Yes, a buffet would be simpler, but this is for Father's Day, and DH and DS1 are looking forward to their roast beef! Haven't got as far as puddings yet, but have made the birthday cake for the two GDs having birthdays just before and just after Sunday.

And I think British Airways must be Gransnet members, I have just had an email saying they have made the refund!! grin

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 17-Jun-21 10:47:18

That is lovely GrandmaBatty is it pastel?
Happy Anniversary DWM
Buffet sounds like a good idea in those circumstances Grandmajean

Grandmajean Thu 17-Jun-21 10:43:03

B9exchange When my lot get together here I have to cater for a vegan , a vegetarian , one who only eats beef if it is mince
- no lamb or gammon in any form - and three fusspots who mess about with everything. That's out of ten people ! I tend to do a buffet - even at Christmas.

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 17-Jun-21 10:31:22

Good Morning all from cloudy Harrogate I will have to say I might not be able to post the rest of this month, with DSis coming this pm and next wee we are all going to Melrose, back on the Friday, but Dsis doesn't return to Surrey until the Monday 28th.
I haven't read all of your posts, might get back to visit later.
I did see Ash's post and Marydoll's
Scentia Whitby is one of my favourite places too - enjoy! *Muse what are you digging for? Gold?

Have a good day all

Scentia Thu 17-Jun-21 10:19:21

Marydoll don't get too excited if DH agrees to something. My DH definitely agreed to an Emerald Green Velvet sofa three weeks ago but according to him, "I am making that up and why would anyone in their right mind agree to that"!!

Nannagarra Thu 17-Jun-21 10:07:32

Good morning from sunny Sefton (where, being contrary, we’d love some rain).
I’m behind with your news so apologies if I miss something. Sorry about the production Ash, happy anniversary Dwm and love the painting grandmabatty. Like you I have fairy items at the base of an Acer, Scentia. Are they for me or DGD I wonder!
I had an empty yesterday as DH was out with his friends; today I’m seeing mine. Life feels so much better though caution is key as the NW isn’t doing too well.
Like our neighbours either side, we’re keenly awaiting the completion of the roof opposite. (We need some ideas about what to do with a dormer.) Work ground to a halt a week last Monday after I asked for a quotation. ‘I’ll stop and give you a business card. The gaffer will come over to cost it for you.’ Roofers vanished and have yet to return! How to restore some p and q, eh?
???
Nevertheless our narrow road is bustling with activity. One neighbour has had both gardens dug up and is having them re-landscaped. Fibre optics are being installed. Workmen’s vans, lorries and delivery vehicles for the Queen of Amazon next door and her deputy in these last 12+ months (me) jostle for space. Another two properties are due to have extensive work, one to be demolished. It’s all go here - just not for us! Much chuckling here at Garra Towers though DH not impressed...
Enjoy your day. ???

B9exchange Thu 17-Jun-21 09:50:00

Grey and overcast here, as for most of you I imagine, though still hot, I am missing the blue sky already!

Happy anniversary Dwm and a happy day to anyone meeting friends. Marydoll if you fancy a couple of weeks cat sitting just let me know? Our holiday to Croatia had to be cancelled because we couldn't get travel insurance on an amber holiday. Still struggling to get a refund out of BA, we booked a break in Scotland instead. Now it seems travel to amber countries will not be against FCO advice if double vaccinated, which means we could have gone, and therefore not entitled to a refund. Can I join you in the skweaming Marydoll?

Ash I am so sorry you have lost your summer, that is heart rending, please head outside and join us in the skweaming, and then pour yourself a large G and T. Ignore the latest WHO advice that women of a certain age must not drink alcohol at all, we are too old for that!

Must get ready for the weekend influx, with all their different diets. If it is wet I don't know what we will do, my dining table doesn't seat that many!

Blossoming Thu 17-Jun-21 09:47:24

Happy Anniversary Dwm

Susan56 Thu 17-Jun-21 09:35:22

Ash my DH is very keen that we join the mass booking to watch you in Allo Allo next summer??
