Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry here in brackley this morning.
I went to Bicester via Buckingham yesterday , saw some friends as well, Buckingham was quite as to the Flea Market very few stalls, and then caught the bus to Bicester , I decided not to have a coffee but do a shop and then get the bus home.
The air was chilly and with my condition not all helpful.
Take Care,
Mick

Sorry pressed too soon.
Alygran safe journey home to the Shire!
Have the best day you can folks.

GrannySomerset Sun 29-Jan-23 08:46:14

Grey skies but not nearly so cold which might mean shedding a layer today. Out for lunch so a leisurely start is nice.

EkwaNimitee Sun 29-Jan-23 08:49:07

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Carlisle.
Will I or won't I get out to plant my tree? There's a big hole ready and waiting but I suspect rain is on the way. I shall be reading the papers if so.
Yesterday I went into town for a prescription and had a pootle round the shops buying bits and bobs. Not in M&S though...they had new stock in, ghastly prints and colour combos. I wondered what sort of people bought and wore them, not folk I encounter.
Difficult not to get stressed by the house selling/buying process grandMattie so I hope it goes smoothly for you. I lost 20lbs doing it!

Have a pleasant Sunday everyone.

Good Morning from an overcast but mild S Yorks.

Quakers today, and maybe stay for a discussion afterwards or the gym or straight home - see what energy levels are.

I was pondering on your dilemma grandmattie and definitely speak to the Estate Agent. People often "try it on" with a first offer. Its a difficult market atm as in some areas house prices are dropping up to 15% because they became inflated: it should mean cheaper to purchase too: how much has the subsidence reduced the price, if at all?

Perhaps you can bargain up....

After my last house move, where an initial buyer pulled out after 4 months, (lost £30.000 as had to move quickly),..when I go a-looking in a years time, I'd be as concerned about the solidity of the offer, the buyers situation.

Have best days you can poorlies, and enjoy family and friend visits and outings.

karmalady Sun 29-Jan-23 08:53:54

Good morning s somerset weather is on the up and I am going to cycle up my first hill since autumn, apprehensive as it takes a lot of push and puff

GM, if you feel like dedicated support, then join us on the buying stress thread in house and home, I started it in 2019 and it is still going strong. Develop a hard heart and a thick skin, chancers will come out of the woodwork and so will the nosey parkers

Have a peaceful and restful sunday, another precious day to embrace

My DD seems a bit better now as she did get antibiotics following phone consultation after 4 days with a 40° temperature and flu rendering her incapable of looking after GC. She was supposed to return to work last week following time off after Christmas as DGS was still quite poorly following RSV and had lost a lot of weight. His oxygen saturation was only 83 on admission and he was on oxygen all the time. In their family of 4 there is always someone who is ill with an infection - it seems never ending. I haven’t had full blown flu since 1987.

Hope everyone has the best DH they can.

grandMattie Sun 29-Jan-23 09:10:27

* corner*, I’m not offended but I never ever bargain, not even in India!
I suspect this is a game, (I don’t “get” the rules) though what really annoyed me were the conditions.

NannyJan53 Sun 29-Jan-23 09:12:43

Good morning from a dull and cloudy Black Country.

We recorded and the watched last night the film Thelma & Louise, as I had never seen it before.

Gym this morning, then lunch. Then pack a small bag as we are staying in Birmingham overnight, as we are seeing Florence and the Machine at Resorts World.

Wishing a full recovery for you DD Grandmabatty such a worry.

That offer is taking the proverbial grandMattie. Everyone expects an offer below the asking price, but that is ridiculous.

Thoughts with everyone struggling with ill-health and worries.

Ziplok Sun 29-Jan-23 09:15:40

Good morning all,

rather grey here but still dry so far.

Sorry to read about the cheeky offer GM. 50k below the asking price seems ridiculous.

Glad your DD is beginning to feel a little better glammagran, but it sounds as if it’s going to take a while before she is ready to return to work. She mustn’t try to rush back too soon.

Enjoy your lunch greyduster.

No plans today, just a take it as it comes day.

Jaxjacky Sun 29-Jan-23 09:27:15

Morning all from as grey S Hampshire, seems to be the same weather everywhere.
I think that offer is taking the proverbial gMattie, it is a game, with no real rules other than keeping your head.
MrJ is down in the dumps, it’s the first time he’s been incapacitated in the 24 years I’ve known him, these things pass.
Enjoy your Sunday all, lunches, family get together and strolls. Hoping those poorly improve rapidly 🦩🦩

luluaugust Sun 29-Jan-23 09:28:49

Good morning from a brightening W Kent. A chat to my brother and cooking Sunday lunch is about it for today.
gM just tell the EA this couple are a great big NO and tell them to keep prospective buyers coming round, the more the merrier. I also plodded round M&S Ekwa and thought well at least it isn't all beige, didn't buy though.
Best wishes to all.

SunshineSally Sun 29-Jan-23 09:31:45

Good morning everyone from an overcast south Hants.
grandMattie that is a very cheeky offer indeed. Maybe they were testing the waters and they’ll come back with a more realistic offer. I’d definitely keep it on the market longer. It’s stressful but try not to let it get you down 💐
Feels odd not seeing my car on the driveway - hopefully I’ll hear this week whether the garage has sorted the issue out 🤞.
Today we’re meeting good friends for lunch out - need to take DDog out first though! Other than that a quiet Sunday … though I need to decide what pudding to make as we’ve been invited to a neighbour’s house for dinner this week and I’ve been charged with making the dessert. Hmmm need to dig out some cookery books 📚
Have the best day you can. Thinking of those that are poorly or feeling low 🦩🦩
🤗 and 🌻 for you all x

ginny Sun 29-Jan-23 09:45:08

Good morning .
Lazy start today, still reading the pay and not yet dressed.
Will prepare food for dinner and a quick tidy. I intend to spend the rest of the day sketching and painting.
Wishing you all the best day possible.

Taichinan Sun 29-Jan-23 10:06:49

Good morning all from a very non-descript morning on the Angus coast. Heavy rain and gale force winds are forecast for later though! I had a good night's sleep, but it started late and finished late so I have only read Mick's news so far. I hope you're none the worse for your travels yesterday.
I had a lovely surprise yesterday in the form of a quick visit from Dancing GD and her friend. As I live some distance from all my family, on the road to nowhere, that is a first for me! I bless the day she passed her driving test! They had come up for a walk at a favourite beach near here so decided to come the rest of the way to see me. Just lovely.
Today I have our tai chi Chinese New Year Banquet this evening. It was something we did every year without fail before covid so it will be lovely to get back to it.
Other than that, nothing really. I hope you all enjoy your Sundays and the weather is kind to you x

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 29-Jan-23 10:10:24

Good Morning all from dry but chilly Harrogate.
It's a pity you didn't inflate the house price to start with then you wouldn't have a problem accepting silly offers! GrandMattie I know it doesn't work like that. Grammagran hope your daughter is better soon, and your daughter Grandmabatty. We still worry about our children however old they are, don't we.
I had a lousy night last night so not going to church (will attend on-line)! This pm off to DDs for lunch - her lunches start around 2.30pm and carry on til 5pm! It was her I was worrying about last night, she has an allergy to corn and I was wondering if she could be desensitised from it. It is difficult to avoid. Think the is why she likes to cook everything herself.
Have the best day possible folks

Kalu Sun 29-Jan-23 10:14:19

Good morning from Glasgow and what a change from yesterday’s sunshine, today, grey, dreich and windy.

I too spent a lot of time tidying up the garden WW but at a much lower pace with a coffee break until I am good to go again. The mind is willing and all that…
A crafting day for me with a promise from DH to hang the two mirrors we haven’t got around to doing. I have a love of symmetry and where possible, a pair of objects are required to give a sense of balance. No idea if this is normal behaviour but it is a must for me.🤣

It’s lovely to read of more happier times for those who are meeting up with friends/family and recovering from illness.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Anniebach Sun 29-Jan-23 10:20:08

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Taichinan Sun 29-Jan-23 10:29:22

Enjoy your show grandmadinosaur - I have Strictly envy!

yogitree Sun 29-Jan-23 10:30:35

Good morning from Central Scotland where we are expecting a blustery, wet day. It's my 68th Birthday and I am celebrating with a broken shoulder that, after 5 weeks, is improving in mobility and pain. For lunch, it's steak, eggs and sweet potato chips, yay! Here's a mock-up of Viking me for a laugh!

Blossoming Sun 29-Jan-23 10:32:35

Good morning everyone. It’s damp, grey and misty in this corner of Lancashire. I was tired yesterday after my eye exam. I had an appointment at the hairdresser so my hair is swishy and beautiful this morning grin. My hairdresser is a lovely woman, the new premises are really nice and more easily accessible than the old place. Having my hair done is one of my small pleasures.

Today will be bacon rolls for brunch as usual on a Sunday and the new microwave is due to be delivered. No idea what time, they will ping me when it’s out for delivery.

Have a peaceful Sunday all 🦩🦩🦩

Blossoming Sun 29-Jan-23 10:34:19

Kalu Sun 29-Jan-23 10:41:58

Happy Birthday yogitree🎂. Love the outfit.
You are in good company as I am slowly recovering from a fractured hip and knee. Ouch!

Taichinan Sun 29-Jan-23 10:53:15

Kalu are you a Libran by any chance, with your love of symmetry? Ditto here.

Taichinan Sun 29-Jan-23 10:56:02

Happy Birthday Yogitree. Love the photo! Ouch to the shoulder though - glad it's improving.
