Alexa said it would rain at 6pm
She was only put by 18 minutes.

We had heavy rain in west Cheshire for about two hours overnight last night, another couple of hours this morning and another half hour or so this afternoon.....it's freshened everywhere up wonderfully!
Now I'd be very grateful for another couple of drizzly days!

minesaprosecco Fri 13-Jul-18 18:31:11

I'd be grateful for just one hour of rain juggernaut

Alexa said we would have thunderstorms! She was wrong. We've had one short but heavy shower. That's all at present.

Send some down to the south-west please. But not before I get the washing ingrin

Anniebach Fri 13-Jul-18 18:49:33

No rain yet in Mid Wales, no rain !

Greyduster Fri 13-Jul-18 18:56:12

We were expecting a thunderstorm here in South Yorkshire this afternoon but it has passed us by sad yet again. We must have had a brief shower overnight but it must have evaporated as soon as it hit the ground. I can guarantee it will be absolutely chucking it down at the beginning of August - guess who is going on holiday!

Cherrytree59 Fri 13-Jul-18 19:12:50

It's almost stopped, a mere drizzle nowsad
It is still dark and cloudy so fingers crossed.

Not enough for me to blow South West kathsue.

Gd We are also in holiday in August, so will probably be the wettest on recordshock

Luckygirl Fri 13-Jul-18 19:15:02

Wonderful brief deluge - just what we needed! Fine now - and no need to water the plants! smile

Melanieeastanglia Fri 13-Jul-18 19:29:19

No rain yet where I live. I hope we get some soon for so many reasons although I do feel sorry for people on holiday when it arrives.

M0nica Fri 13-Jul-18 19:54:03

It looked ominous, so we brought the garden seat cushions in. Then I watered all the planters, The sun is now out and I think we can forget having any rain.

But we did have nearly 30 mintes of rain last Saturday, so I shouldn't be greedy.

Grannynise Fri 13-Jul-18 20:00:51

Pouring in North West London. Hooray!

Squiffy Fri 13-Jul-18 20:03:01

We had thunder and lightning earlier and I was all optimistic about rain following, but nothing so far. It smells like rain in the air, so I'm still hopeful . . . . . Ever the optimist!

Jalima1108 Fri 13-Jul-18 20:10:04

Two loud claps of thunder followed by 10 minutes of hesitant rain.

Bathsheba Fri 13-Jul-18 20:10:08

We had rain late yesterday afternoon. As we were walking down to the doctors' surgery DH commented "we haven't had the rain yet". I replied that it would probably start just as we left the surgery. Guess what? It started just as we left the surgery grin

Jalima1108 Fri 13-Jul-18 20:10:50

If I'd left the cushions out it would have poured down.
I must remember that next time.

Charleygirl Fri 13-Jul-18 20:12:55

I agree Grannynise Tara my cat came home looking like a drowned rat. No rain at Wimbledon although the roof has been closed in case.

Maggymay Fri 13-Jul-18 20:17:20

Greyduster Fri 13-Jul-18 21:28:57

Further to my earlier post, having watered all the bloody pots, it is now bucketing down!!
