When DH and I first met we would snuggle together in front of the telly every week at our local youth club to catch up with the goings on at the 4077th.

Our first dance at our wedding was Foreigner “I want to know what love is” it takes me back to my wedding day every time I hear it. I remember listening to Phil Collins singing Groovy kinda love on the hospital radio 30 years ago whilst I was waiting to have my eldest daughter. That song always brings back fond memories too. A memorable holiday song is “Moves like Jagger” by Maroon 5 whilst we were travelling in my sister’s car in Cairo as it was the first time I had heard it and fell in love with that song. I always think of the fantastic blue skies and sunny climate as I hear that song on the radio now and then. Terrific giveaway incidentally, thanks for the opportunity.

My song is a remembrance song it was my mum's favourite Power Of Love by Jennifer whenever I hear it being played tears fill up in my eyes as this reminds me of my mum so much and shes no longer with me the words are so touching in this song very sad and very emotional song

Distant Drums by Jim Reeves was my fathers favourite song. I only have to hear it to think of him. I love Bright Eyes and Bridge over Troubled Water both by Simon and Garfunkel. Beautiful music but it makes me sad.

Difficult as so many are very personal, off to think !

As I was feeling very despondent during a break in my final exams, I was walking down the street when a song wafted up from a basement flat. It was Sinatra's 'You make me feel so young' which lightened my mood and made me believe I wasn't doing so badly after all.

Two first two pieces of music that stopped me in my tracks, are the duet from The Pearl Fishers, with Jussi Bjorling and Robert Merrill, and Louis Armstrong singing What a Wonderful Word. Then our daughter was born at home to the adagio movement of Brahms violin concerto, played by Christine Ferras. Apologies if the spellings are incorrect.

I have 2 , Hush little baby, i use to sing it to all the kids when they were upset and it would always quite them down and my wedding song Nothings gonna change my love for you seemed very fitting.

I can't take my eyes off you by Andy Williams - the first time a boy asked me to dance. Karma chameleon - the only song that would help my daughter to sleep.

Tears of a clown at the first youth club disco I ever went to - this shy 15year old became a Diva!!

My favourite I think is 'Dream' by the Everly Brothers. I loved it when I was a teenager and sang it to my DCs and DGC when they needed to be sung to sleep.

My teenage love was sent away for work training for a year when we had just left school - far away - to Germany from South Africa. Unbeknown to me, he arranged for his mother to send me a copy of Happy Together by The Turtles for my birthday that year. Our romance didn't last the separation (it was me, not him) but whenever I hear that song, I think of him and how happy we were together.

Imagine me and you, I do, I think about you day and night, it's only right ... such an innocent song.

Earlier than that, sitting in my best friend’s house laughing and playing records especially The Beatles Norwegian Wood.Feeling young and carefree.
Much earlier than that, listening to a song on the radio called Magic Moments (Dave King?Dean Martin?) around 1957 possibly, and thinking this is the last song I will hear in this house.The next day we moved to a new house and our Father vanished from our lives.

Rule the World by Take That, it was our wedding song and it always reminds me of Christmas too.

My dad was a big opera fan so my childhood memories are full of Verdi etc. Celeste Aida is a particular favourite still.
Teenage years were full of 60s music, my boyfriend (now my husband of almost 49 years used to sing “ Till there was you” to me, he was trying to be romantic but he always got the words wrong!
So many more songs from later eras of my life hold special memories too, I have very eclectic taste. Music is so evocative and my life would be poorer without it.

When I was pregnant with our third child I had a scan that told me that after two girls I was carrying a boy. However, my husband was adament that he didn't want to know what the sex of our baby was so I told no one. So my song from then was "Let's hear it for the boy" by Deniece Williams and every time I heard it I would hug to myself the happy news that we were going to have a son. A very happy memory indeed!!

I liked the song Everything I do I do it for you by Bryan Adams - it was the song we danced to at our wedding and seemed very appropriate. Whenever I hear it it brings back memories of that special day 20 years ago which was the hottest day of that year!

The theme tune to "Only Fools and Horses"! When my son was born my head was all over the place so as I was rocking him the only thing I could think of was that theme tune! ) ...."You take your suitcase from the van...." ))))
