Creepy ..

People are beginning to protest, pressuring the government to open up, even medical experts are climbing on board, along with major corporations including sports ..

Guess who they support?

It's getting crazy here ..

I've just read the news about Michigan protests and feel deep despair. What is going on? The situation seems to be stirred yet again by Trump. I cannot put into words my horror at how the situation is panning out in the US at the moment. rosecarmel it must be horrific to be marooned in such an ocean of brainless people

Even medical experts are climbing on board

...which suggests that there is disagreement between medical experts as to the best way to cope during the pandemic.

Off to google Michigan protests....

I hate to say this as I have friends in the US but how can so many people be so stupid it beggars belief that they would want to put their families at such risk.

Mr Trump is a very scary individual. That's my opinion anyway. His news conferences make me feel anxious and angry. He delights in being rude, offensive and unpleasant to anyone who questions him , especially if the journalist is female, even more so if she isn't white. He is dangerous and winds up his supporters deliberately

What I am feeling very uncomfortable about is that the USA has always held itself up as the model democracy.

Watching Trump and the way he reacts to people it doesn’t feel like that to me.

Baggs Thu 16-Apr-20 08:27:11

Americans love their freedom though and that is what the Michigan protesters want back. Wisely or unwisely, that is their bottom line: minimal interference in their lives by government at any level.

Plus many of them might be in danger of losing their livelihoods. That's going to cause just as much ill health in the long run, some argue, as the corona virus.

eazybee Thu 16-Apr-20 09:58:24

I doubt if it will cause so much death.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 16-Apr-20 10:01:40

But don’t you see their demand for freedom to choose is fine providing it doesn’t impinge on other people, but in this case it may mean they cause the death of someone who doesn’t agree with their demands.

It is an extraordinary selfish attitude.

This virus has created a situation in which every country is attempting a fine balancing act between saving lives and minimising the risk to their economy.

The problem is experts all over the world differ in their opinion as to the best course of action.

Not an enviable position for ANY leader.

The terrifying thing is that these people have guns.

sf101 Thu 16-Apr-20 10:39:17

I think Trump is just jealous of China and Russia's leaders - he would love their sort of power if he could get it and not have to be answerable to anyone!

GagaJo Thu 16-Apr-20 10:45:46

sf101, couldn't agree more. Communist control with capitalist objectives.

rosecarmel Thu 16-Apr-20 13:04:41

Some governors have tied their political agendas into their coronavirus guidelines and appointed medical staff willing to back them-

It's a mess ..

timetogo2016 Thu 16-Apr-20 13:07:20

You can`t educate the stupid especially ones with guns.

Witzend Thu 16-Apr-20 13:23:01

Apparently gun stores are still open in at least some US states - guns apparently being deemed ‘essential items’ in those states.

rosecarmel Thu 16-Apr-20 16:11:39

Guns are essential, paint and other home supplies are not in some states- Along with abortion- I never thought paint and abortion would ever fall into the same category-
