She won a national quilting championship and was renowned for medieval depictions,a cross between appliqué and a bit like stump work but not raised up. I went to a talk she gave many years ago and her work was beautiful and presumably still is. She also happened to be an historian and married to an MP. So how does the Times begin her obituary. By describing her appearance and dwelling on her camel coat and hairnets. Aaaaaagh. And Camilla Long in the Sunday Times thought Rihanna's vile nasty sounding little film was great. I despair for women.

Oh no, I am so sorry, she was a brilliant needle worker and a very intelligent woman , I went to Cardiff to hear her speak and to see her work which was sheer beauty . How sad she was remembered for her dress , she deserved respect
