My first grandson arrived this morning! He is fine and lovely and beautiful (and quite hefty!) Been up all night knowing they were in the hospital and his arrival was imminent. What an amazing feeling. But so hard too. I just want to be with him and give him lots of cuddles. But of course I have to give my son and DIL their space until they invite me in. Sigh...
What do I do to kill the time until then?

Thank you!! Have the needles out already. Was too superstitious to start anything before he arrived safely. Anyone else feel that way?
Silly I know but I was very nervy. Doubt I'll be able to sleep tonight! Although that's nothing compared to how tired they must all be of course. So happy!!

Congratulations! Enjoy grandparenthood grin if you can kill time by going and having a little look around for a special present now he is safely here: a gorgeous cuddly or a book he will come to treasure as well as maybe a really cute outfit! It's all fun now!

Welcome to your new grandson Heir - he shares his birthday today with my first grandchild - AKA Miss Sparkling Eyes, who is 14 today. It seems no time at all since she was a tiny little thing in a carry cot and she won my heart at first sight and has had it ever since. I wish you many years of joy and pleasure in your new role as a Gran! flowers

pinkprincess Wed 23-Sep-15 21:51:45

Big congrats Heirof, what lovely news. There is nothing like a brand new baby to melt everyone's hearts! He is sharing his birthday with my niece and nephew (different ages, different families!)
Enjoy all the cuddles and yes, just get knitting in the meantime! flowers

Joyful news, Heir. He will give you so much fun in the years to come. I was just looking at a photo of my first GS on the day he was born and now he is 11. I can't believe it's the same child. Just enjoy every day as it comes and you will have many wonderful memories. flowers wine
