Good morning, all. Welcome, PoppyB.
It's decidedly grey and murky here again. We had a very brief spell of sunshine yesterday, but as it was mid afternoon, it was very short lived!
It's strange how dreaming of a knock or ring at the door seems so real, isn't it greyduster? A strange thing, really.
Marydoll sorry to hear that your BIL is back in hospital. Don't worry about "offloading" in your post, sometimes we need to share how we are feeling, and we're here to listen and support. Take care ?.
Hope those of you suffering from the "lurgy" are starting to feel a bit better.

Morning friends. A first time for everything and this is my first time on here. Lights still on indoors as it's so dark out there speaking from Kent. Don't plan to go out today, instead I plan to potter and declutter my flat. Why do I bring so many naff souvenirs home from around the world ? they just don't look the same on my shelf as the shelf I took them from. Anyway must get on..well maybe after my second cuppa of the day. Toddle pip x

Good morning all.
Not a bad day here in Stockport, no rain or fog and not as cold .
I got in first and had my haircut yesterday, I have a home hairdresser, saves a lot of hassle.
Out for a couple of hours this afternoon with my Thursday friend, she is a treasure.
Both lurgy free here TG but I am not so good spirits wise, very low, hurry up spring.

Good Morning All.
I am slobbing in my PJS, not even my dressing gown. High time I was dressed I am off to the hairdressers in an hour.

Greyduster Thu 11-Jan-18 09:16:08

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The doorbell woke me up this morning but when I got downstairs there was no one there. I must have dreamed it! It is uniformally grey in South Yorkshire this morning, and I have no idea what else is in store other than a pile of ironing. At least my cold has gone. Have a happy day one and all.

harrigran Thu 11-Jan-18 08:59:58

Good morning, grey and miserable looking in the north east but 5 degrees.
We have stayed lurgy free so far but I am in semi hibernation and haven't seen GC since New year's day, they are back at school now and will be sharing their germs generously.

Good morning all

Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester.
Into town for Thursday coffee meetup (all ladies welcome) and to get refund for dress and top I bought in sales yesterday. Neither fit and I hate trying on in the shops. Will try not to buy anything else!

ginny Thu 11-Jan-18 08:26:34

Good morning. As Maw said it’s dull and dank in N. Bucks.
Off to collect DGS for the day soon.

NfkDumpling Thu 11-Jan-18 08:20:48

Morning All

Dank and dismal here in Norfolk today. I managed to sleep all last night without coughing but I'm making up for it now. DH has retreated back to bed with Lemsip. I have to go into Norwich today for appointments which really can't be put off, and was intending to go by bus but I think cocooning myself in the car would be more sensible. And perhaps a burka.

I can send virtual (((hugs))) to you Marydoll as they're not infectious. Do you have a soft play zone anywhere near you? Tiring just to sit in I know but great at wearing out little ones!

MawBroon Thu 11-Jan-18 08:20:29

Good morning from a murky corner of N Bucks and especial good wishes to those suffering from or recovering from the lurgy.
Sometimes hibernation is a very tempting prospect.
It’s NADFAS this morning - a talk on Klimt. These are usually excellent but I really don’t mind either way, it is just nice to meet up with a friendly group of people.
Then I might try to have my hair cut - it’s overdue but I am still trying to recover from a bad cut from the girl who kindly came to do Paw’s back in October ?
Do take care in the fog!

farview Thu 11-Jan-18 08:15:16

Morning everyone, grey but mild in Lancashire, bit like me!! All enjoy today!

cornergran Thu 11-Jan-18 08:05:40

Morning All. Calm, clear morning in our corner of Somerset. Lurgy seems to have landed here, feel distinctly odd and a very tight chest. I am determined it won’t develop, too much on the horizon. Wish me luck. Hope Thursday is kind to everyone.

Marydoll Thu 11-Jan-18 08:04:32

Good morning everyone.
It looks rather damp outside, but not raining.
We have DGD today, (should have been other GPs, again), I'm exhausted, so will need to summon up all my strength to cope with an energetic two year old.

After being discharged from hospital yesterday morning, BIL was rushed back into hospital yesterday afternoon after his GP visited, took one look at him and phoned for an ambulance. I was out with a friend and had to rush home. Last night he was in a surgical ward still waiting for a surgeon to assess him. Good old NHS!
Maw, I now have an idea of what you went through with Paw. These episodes are getting more and more frequent.
As their son is hundreds of miles away in London, DH and I have to support SIL and BIL.
I'm going to try and take DGD out for a walk and let DH get an snooze, as he is exhausted.
Sorry folks this is a depressing post. I just needed to offload on those who understand what it is like.
Hope all those lurgy sufferers are improving.
What a shame about thee earrings Nina
Hope everyone has an enjoyable day.

NanKate Thu 11-Jan-18 07:27:57

Morning Mick Kitty Nina Gaga and All to follow.

I think another grey day is in prospect.

Our lovely old sofa is being removed to be resprung today. I’m going to miss having somewhere to sit/lie whilst I watch the telly.

Gagagran Thu 11-Jan-18 07:13:42

Morning Mick, Nina and Kitty. It's dark but not foggy here on the south coast.

Just about to set off for the weekly supermarket shop which will be a small one as we are both off our fodder, due to this lurgy which has been with us since before Christmas. DH has improved, thankfully, and I am feeling slightly better. It's been a real humdinger of a virus though.

Hope the day is a good one for all GNs sunshine.

kittylester Thu 11-Jan-18 07:01:06

Morning Mick, morning nina, morning all.

It is not foggy at all in North Leicestershire, nor is it too cold.

Usually Sainsbury's shop this morning. It is nice to have some normality back.

Shame about your earrings nina - hope you get it sorted.

ninathenana Thu 11-Jan-18 06:55:40

Morning Mick and everyone.

I've been up a couple of hours and when I peered out the curtains then it wasn't foggy which surprised me. Still too dark to know much else.
I have to go to town today to exchange the earrings H bought me for Christmas as they broke the first time I tried to wear them angry
Have a good day everyone and be careful if you have the fog in your area.

12Michael Thu 11-Jan-18 06:50:04

Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry but dark , maybe fog in the area , I live in a place in the Town Centre where its impossible to forecast proper as to buildings surrounding.
