Very dry scaley scalp

can anybody advise on a natural shampoo which I think may be the only solution to my terribly dry scalp? I have literally snow flake size pieces of skin appearing when I run a fine comb through my hair.
I was told it could be showering too much under hot water, or hard water as we have recently moved to a new area
Any help appreciated
Jane

Dandruff shampoo and co ditioner might help, but you havewash your hair 2/3 times a week.

Have you seen your GP? It could be psoriasis or a form of dermatitis.

Neutrogena T/gel shampoo is recommended by the consultant dermatologist who looks after my DGS who has X linked ichthyosis. His scalp is very flaky and this shampoo keeps it under control.

"Trichology" from Superdrug. Shampoo, conditioner, and scalp tonic. I found the scalp tonic a bit too strong, but like the others.

I use Vosene original when things get a bit flaky - works every time!

Vosene - a blast from the past. My gran always used that

My DD with eczema always uses T Gel shampoo as Hilda jenniJ suggests, and it controls inflammation on her scalp.

I had this and mentioned it to my dermatologist at the hospital in passing....she prescribed me a steroid lotion to use that cleared it up in a few days....but I have to be careful now to use only gentle organic shampoos or it flares up again. Your GP may be able to help. Sending ? because the tight scalp is a horrid feeling.

I have a very itchy and scaly scalp and skin doctor advised me to use only products without parabens or sulphates. I also have Elocon to put on scalp uf it's bad.

There are products from a firm with the brand name Jason that are all natural and their Shampoo/Conditioners are SLS/Parabens free.
They also have moisturizers, body wash and other products.
Available from Holland &Barrett or online.

It does sound rather like scalp psoriasis. I use Ceanel shampoo and a gel (the name of which escapes me just now) which I apply at night and wash off in the morning when it’s at its worst. Both are available on prescription, although I buy the shampoo myself.

Olive oil , massage in and leave on for a while before shampooing with good quality bio type shampoo, the condition and rinse again. Don’t over wash or use scented products

A friend of mine with the same problem swears by Simple shampoo.
