FLOOR STEAMER

Need a wee bit of help here. I have used a floor steam cleaner for around 4 years now. A reputable named company one and use only recommended floor pads to clean. However these last few days I have noticed my floor is not as clean as it used to be especially when I've just finished steaming the floor. It seems to have lots of water marks and streaks left on shiny tiled floor. It's driving me mad. I like my floor nice and clean and shiny. Just wondered if maybe I need to replace steamer and not just floor heads. Any ideas? Thank you.

Hmm, if the steamer is still steaming as normal with the same output, then nothing on that end should have changed, as of course that’s just steam from plain water. It may well just be the pads that are no longer as efficient at trapping the dirt and drying off the floors.

Only other thing I can think of has something been dropped on the floor and the steam just can’t cut through it? Something along the lines of something greasy (even something like fabric softener or mayonnaise - could be millions of things I suppose)? With you mentioning streaks, it may need a cleaning solution to cut through it the once and then the steamer used as normal.

Thank you elyl , I had actually thought of giving it a good clean down on my hands and knees to see if I could perhaps start again if you know what I mean. Thanks for your comment.

I believe that like microfibre cleaning cloths the microfibre pads have a limited life. I swapped my steamer for a machine that picks up dirt as well as cleans the floor and I am very happy with it.
