We are both overseas, however I would like to give a yearly subscription to my DD who is 'redesigning' their house, what would you suggest that has no cooking and not too many ads

There is Ideal Home magazine, but it does contain recipes.
If you follow the link, you will get a taster.

House Beautiful is another to look at.

Country Living magazine is a good one too.

Style at Home and Your Home, good basic magazines for first time buyers and those on limited budgets. Recommended buys are from DIY chains, IKEA, and supermarkets and the show homes are very varied.

There is a short recipe section, but only about 2 or 3 pages.

Good luck with finding one with not many advertisements!

My daughter bought me a subscription to Country Living magazine and I loved it.
