This is the best explanation I could find

Just thought I ought to expand on just the link.

So, from April those who are on certain low-income benefits will get three cost of living payments or around £300, adding up to £900. There will be one after April 2023, one in the Autumn and one in the following spring.

Those on certain disability benefits will receive one payment of £150 in the summer.

Those entitled to winter fuel payment and are above state pension age will get a top up of £300 in the winter. This is the one I feel needs further clarification. Last year it was an additional £250 or £300 depending on whether you are over or under 80.

Thank you for that info DaisyAnne. Reassuring to know that folk whose sole income is state pension, but don’t qualify for pension credit, will receive £300.
