We have a similar program here in Canada, called One To One. Its such a pleasure to sit with these kids and be a part of their journey!

I've now done my first half term with Beanstalk at a local infant school. I support three Y1 pupils and can see a little progress and a lot of enthusiasm already. My supervisor is accessible, friendly, and helpful and the school staff welcoming.
Beanstalk are looking for more volunteers as more schools become aware of the benefits of the one to one support given to the pupils. If anyone is interested do find out more, you may find it as worthwhile and enjoyable as I do!

We are looking for volunteers to join Beanstalk as Reading Helpers. Our Reading Helpers go into local schools across Birmingham and sit and read with children. If you enjoy reading and have lots of patience along with a desire to help others this could be a great way to spend your time.
Visit www.beanstalkcharity.org.uk to find out more and to apply. We have schools across Birmingham who are looking for volunteers now!
