After reading a thread about not having many people to socialise with, I realised from her comments that the poster lived close to me and I messaged her to say "hello"

We have decided to get together for a coffee quite soon and as she is also in touch with a couple of other Gransnetters, it looks like we are having a bit of a mini meet, probably at a garden centre cafe in the Hazel Grove, Bramhall, Poynton area.

I wonder if there are any other local members who would like to,join us? We don't have a date yet, we are currently looking at a couple of options, but hope to meet in a couple of weeks. If you let me know, I'll post the details.

Great idea Teacheranne, I'm in your area too.

I'll keep a list of anyone who contact me, either on this post or through a private message and get back to you when we have a date. I am currently thinking of going to Norbury Farm Cafe, Hazel Grove, as it has parking close by and easy to find.

I'm bumping this up to check if anyone else is coming!

So far I have annsixty, annodomini and myself.

It looks like being a small group but I'm still up for it!

Well, I’ve been here since 12.15 with no joy! I guess the others could not make it. But that’s fine, I’ve had a lovely lunch, read a book and chatted to a few ladies - I went round asking all the ladies if they were waiting for someone.

annodomini Wed 28-Aug-19 16:01:24

Teacheranne, I'm so sorry to have missed the meet-up, especially as you had already discussed it with me. I was on a train on my way back from Oxfordshire yesterday. If I had noticed the clash of dates, I would have been in touch with you to make my apologies.
Let's draw a line under this one and try again. The one thing I have against the Norbury Farm café is that it can get very noisy - something to do with the structure, flooring, etc and it can be difficult to sustain a conversation between two people, never mind half a dozen!

Teacheranne
I am so sorry but I didn’t realise it was a definite arrangement.
I would certainly have made it today, I was expecting a confirmation, and sadly I missed your post on Sunday.
From the bottom of my heart I apologise, please forgive me and make another date.
I am covered in mortification.

I realise now it was yesterday, again apologies.

Teacheranne Thu 29-Aug-19 00:36:41

To both the Ann's, I have sent you a private message to reassure you that it is fine and I look forward to meeting you at the cafe next Tuesday instead.
